Did you read my post to you? Not sure you understand.

The srx is not meant for rough trail riding. Its lowered and will bottom easier. I currently have my full height suspension with much better LE shocks, set to #3 clicker, and that is how hard Im riding the big bumps. I dont need less suspension, I need more if anything.

Dan
i will tell you my tcat hands down without any doubt handles better everywhere than our 17 Ltd cat. My dad and I switch back and forth Between the sleds and he always says no comparison in handling.
I always lowered sleds in cc racing too. There is a lot more tuning that can be done to factory springs and shocks also though.

All really personal preference on what you like at the end of the day. Just like everything else with these things

On a side note I just took that thing out in the field tonight and reminded myself of how much fun 300 hp on pump ⛽️ is

Dan I’ve been following your threads since day one and I also ride in the same area as you do and you got me thinking about not getting a 137” for our type of trails lol..

There are some new 2018 129” rtx sidewinders at reasonable prices I have been eyeing but now with the 2020 release and the refinements to the sidewinder I’m at a stand still on what to do, but no 129” are offered and not liking the colours except for the all black srx...

Dan why don't u buy a Canadian sled if u are mostly up here riding in the winter ?

Yeah but those all transfer cause they have UNCOUPLED skids.....I want a coupled skid with transfer. This has been talked about for 3 yrs here, guys who have not read alot here may not know it but its been a huge issue for 137 owners not getting good transfer.

Most of us REMOVED our blocks entirely and still would just spin.....129 totally amazing transfer, many guys sold their 137s and bought 129s in 2018. Its all here if you search. Even special spring mounts made to help.

Dan,
Don't believe everything you read. FAKE NEWS. The 137" transfers like a SOB with traction and power, so much so you can't use all the power sometimes! I bough a Racewerx block so I could transfer LESS!

The guys that can't transfer on 137's must be riding bare tracked stockers, not studded tuned sleds.

Got pricing from my dealer today on XTX LE and BTX LE. Pretty much in line with what Dan is guessing. Got some thinking to do. I'm keeping my 17 LTX LE, looking for a second for playing off trail. Might even look into leftover BTX's. Got til April 13th to make up my mind.

If you look back on the early threads about the 137 not transferring I argued the same thing back then. I really think alot of people confuse doing tailstanding "wheelies" with transfer. My experience with the 137 is it transfers the weight to the track just fine. I can understand the guys that would prefer to be able to lift the front higher and easier for rollers in the trail and areas where you come down into a runoff and need to lift the skis up to the other side. Those situations can suck on the 137. But that's not transfer in my book.

Dont get me wrong, the 137 can go through tight trails well too, for me its really the fact I was able to get alot more transfer from mine(this year) by moving my rod back 7mm. Its become far more playful then it was last yr. When I completely removed the blocks off the rod on the 2017 137, It still had poor transfer. Both near same traction, albeit a whimpy tune on the 17 which surely had some to do with it.

If you want a 129''...call Dewildt in Innisfil(Barrie) Ont...He literally has dozens of leftovers and many are '18 129s, but SE's.

Ive been riding here my entire life. Never rode in NY really at all. Really the whole reason I got into sledding as cause of the cottage as a kid we would come up here and see sleds everywhere, and so I got into it very young.

Over the many years, Ive bought sleds here many times, and at home. I have a great dealer back home, buying from Don Georges for many yrs. When cash is available, buying up here can work out really well with USD exchange. However the tax here is 13% vs 8% at home so that must be considered. Also depending on the program, I like to use the special APR% rates on loans, and in that case being an American Citizen, loans need to be at home too.

Now if I sold my sled, and had US dollars, and found a great deal up here that may happen, and then the Registration is cheaper each yr in Ontario then I pay in NY state. But for the most part I haven't bought a sled up here since around early 2000s.

I have sold several of my US sleds up here though, and then the buyer Imports the sled into Canada.

Hmm I did notice that with my Viper, that the track spins and spins in the loose stuff. That's because of the track length?

Talked to them last month....

$17,275cad TAX AND ALL INCLUDED for a 2019 9000RR. Not too shabby still considering MSRP is $20,295 or so.

Dan

Yes but at what per cent over how many years? If your paying 4.99 over so many years, add in those interest payments.

Mike, you are running 290hp with sharpened studs Brother, yours will obviously transfer!

I think you forgot, I had a 17 here all winter then, and with same studs as my setup, I spent all winter on that tried everything, just like a ton of guys here....and just never got it to "feel" how I want.

I think maybe transfer for one person might mean something diff to the next guy....Im talking about tapping your thumb just a touch and raising the nose at will, I dont mean having to WOT to get nose light, just a touch of throttle and nose becomes light and now corner to corner you have a fun light sled, which lifts nose off each mogul and knoll....it rides like a light 2s sled. Needs a Hurricane race early spool tune to get this to happen, and took me 2 yrs to get mine to be so playful, just ask all my 2s buds who dont like heavy 4s sleds how they like how mine is setup.

Then you come in hot, all the weight comes down on skis and bites like a muther carving through the corner. I hate to say it but it is alot like the POO Axys(uncoupled) where they talk about shifting your weight to change the sleds bite or how light nose feels...since I got mine setup how I like it now, it "feels" like a MUCH lighter sled in the tight stuff.

None of this will matter to anyone who rides bigger wide open trails, and when I ride bigger trails this is not a factor at all, I always sit way up front with riser VERTICAL, so nose is always down and biting.

All this being said, it may be inevitable I have to own a 137. DOO also seems to be there now with their 4s sleds. So I will just have to change with the times and experiment more with the 137 to get it how I want it.

Not trying to say all you guys are wrong, just saying I think we might have different riding styles and trails, and I really should own a 2s for my type trails and ride style, so making the heavy Winder feel ultra playful for me is very important.

I have heard good reports of 137's not only riding better but transferring better with the Bill Mohr (Stingray Mods) rear shock spring.

While I didnt have that particular spring, I used a 160 lb cat spring and it made a huge difference in ride and did help pick the front end up easier.
