I’m guessing .... textron wants to end the connection to Yamaha, so arctic cat is worth more by making there own motors & there own chassis. They will get more dollar value for the investors when they sell it ???Wonder why Cat only has the thundercat for 2020 ?

I doubt that rumour is true... if you had a 99 sxr 700 before , the power was a little less , but the throttle response & power band was better. Also easier on clutch’s and clutching.Doubt it is a triple(if it exists). Would have to be twin, as a triple with single pipe simply won't make as much power.

LOL....ya never know, but right now I like the Blue/Orange SE best and would add shocks.I predict that Dan will see the blue on blue LE at the show and put his money down. And order it without skis again.
But no 129 really burns me...

More than a little. It would be down at least 20 and that's not good. Agree it's smoother but it would be a huge mistake IMOI doubt that rumour is true... if you had a 99 sxr 700 before , the power was a little less , but the throttle response & power band was better. I spoke to my dealer, and he says differently.....2020s are spring order, and NON current will fill in season orders.....I think the key here is Cat is really having issues with Non-Currents and the biggest dealers are getting more sleds from Cat while small dealers are going out of business.I spoke to my AC dealer here,he stated he was ordering sleds for next year, they don’t have to all be snow checked.
I trust YAM more for warranty, and being around longer.....Not sure what is happening with Cat anymore.

Spoke to a cat rep and dealers will be able to get a limited supply of 20s based on what leftovers they have and if no leftovers, dealers can get some 2018-2019 shipped to ensure they have showroom capacity covered. To be honest, we have an 18 800 in our group with a precision flash, ypipe and reeds and it flat rips and is a fantastic sled. Issues with chaincase have been fine on the smaller machines and the team clutches are very good. He got his sled for 9200 CA with QS3 shocks etc. IT trounces a doo 850 in our group through the gears with a close top end. They want all sleds gone by years end. Ask yourself why would they do this? Something big is coming which could be yamaha going to their own setup, buying cat, Cat going 2 smoke only, Yamaha buying cat and selling two brands(Yamaha-4 stroke- Cat 2smoker). Anyone's guess at this point. I think it is a moot point to discuss the problems. I have many friends with stock winders with of 10 K on them with 2-3 belts used. None of them tuned. Mine is tuned and I have blown one belt in 3000 miles. The first at 2500 and I am boosted. Cat has a hell of a deal right now. I really like the look of the Riot just wish cat had not forgotten about Orange and black. Cheers

Interesting Rumor I heard from a friend is that Yamaha and cat is readying an 880 triple that was co-developed with cat and Yamaha tech. Yamaha has a great HPDI but cats slot injection for a boost port would be the best of both worlds as it lubes the underside of the piston and wrist pin and makes for a great long term reliable engine. I have friends in Quebec with over 20K miles on cat 600s and the top ends still look great. Cat engines have never been the issue. Their Chassis parts is another discussion. Imagine a triple in an all new chassis made of carbon fiber/composite. That would be worth a look a I just love the sound of the Yamaha triples.

My dealer has told me alot of the same, but he also tells me Cat really has been so sporadic with things and changes to programs its got him worried. He thinks maybe something big is coming too. Either Cat will be sold off to Yamaha, or Cat has a entire new chassie that will be 2s only and Cat only, then Yamaha will take over the procross for 4strokes and they will end their relationship.
Im certain it must BURN Yamaha to see the 2020 Tcat pricing! There MUST be some bad blood happening between them!
I think the 2020 Tcat is an incredible bargain, But it comes with 1yr warranty only and IMO has a far worse resale value then a Winder. Mostly cause Cats have too many non currents.
My dealer told me the Tcat can be bought for 13,995 plus tax, thats it...no other costs! That is cheaper then a 900t doo and even a Winder SE by alot. So something must be up with Cat. Winders will be discounted as per normal, which gets them down around 15,500 I believe. Im holding off till END of spring orders to make any deals, if I decide to even buy new.

Don just sold the SRX, he has the LE and SE left still....no rebates yet on LE models, and less warranty so will see. Id prefer the 2020 changes with NEW front end, push button start, tether and 5 YR WARRANTY included.Don Jr has both a LE and SRX and i believe they are zero percent because they are 2019. I was just in there the other day.

I assume new chassis
Cat isn’t going anywhere and textron has a better business sense.
Why do you want a 129? I had 1100 128(2.52 pitch then) and hated it. You couldn’t get it to hook on the lake like a 137. The 16 limited turbo with qs3s was a completely different sled in the trail then all previous.
137 will transfer and hook. I don’t notice the length in the trail like I do on our 144 1100. Just curious?
Maybe their own motor next?
Hopefully like the 1100 Suzuki it is built to handle lots of hp

GT is a nice in season model with good shocks and good price, SE should be in season too.I thought the Yamahas all had to be snow checked ?
LE means Limited edition(spring order only)

Just do a search here, this has been talked about alot since 2017.
Yeah the 137 have terrible transfer, guys removing block altogether as I tried, still not enough....with 129 it transfers like a DOO rmotion, and therefore hooks....totally diff sled. I can hook up WAY better with 129 due to transfer, then 137 that wont transfer. But it looks like I will be stuck with 137 only if I buy new.
The only 137 that do transfer well have a ton of sharp studs to get it to hook, trail studs wont do it.
I also hated my 2012 128"....rode like a brick.

I have no issue with this. Maybe partly a spinning issue as you stated. 129 does not hook on a lake where I would drag race. Not happening and most will be 144 or longer to hook. 137 transfers as well as any 129 but it also really doesn’t spin. I run over 1/2 past lug on everything
Imo you need a 137 or longer on a turbo just for hp.
But everyone has their own preference and I respect yours.
Just thought I’d ask why

Think I'm keeping my 19, but probably going to put the ripsaw one inch on with studs. Like the push button start especially because the key isn't easy to get at, but can't trade just for that.

My guess is the SNOWMAGEDDON pricing for spring only is the bottom line. I would also guess that many dealers will add freight and setup(PDI). 2020 Cats can only be spring ordered, there will be no ' in season' 2020 cats from my understanding. Textron basically is getting smart, and wanting to clear out MANY YEARS of non-currents. So there are even better deals to be had in the Cat world if you dont mine older model years.
As for Winders, I know my dealer usually prices aggressively. Last year mine had an MSRP of 16,799 and I bought it for 14,700 all in(pre tax). So Id assume a solid 2k discount off MSRP by many dealers, maybe even a tad more? I had to buy my 5 yr warranty last season which I worked into my price too. For '20 it looks like ALL sleds will come with a 5 yr warranty when spring ordering. So that is a nice adder for many who dont get a good warranty deal like I did last yr.
Now if you use '20 SRX at 17,999 you will still likely be around 15,750(pre-tax) is my best guess for a good deal. While the Tcat for '20 is the exact same sled at 14,495....some dealers may add in some PDI, but its still gonna be 1k or so cheaper Id guess. And the other thing is you can buy the tcat without elec shocks, making it 13,995 for those that want the manual adjust qs3 shocks which are certainly less worrisome of any issues. Comes down to, do you want black/green with TEAM clutches or not. Also i like the Rip2(1 inch) style track that comes on the Tcat better then the Rip1 on the SRX. Spindle and Skid color is ugly though, guessing in real life it will be more gold/brass looking then brown, i hope.lol
Dan
It was 16,699 for our RTX 50th's, and 16,899 for the LTX 50th. That's what I paid as a sticker price. Maybe you paid 100.00 dollars more, I don't know???

Dan have you ridden a long long track? 144+? Just my $0.02 I had the 121 ZX2 suspension in my apex, it would stand the sled straight up in the air, transfer was no issue. I went to a 151 (only size extensions available at the time for zx2, i would have went 144) and DEAR GOD the amount of difference it made on both my SC and TC 280+ hp apexs was incredible, my shoulders ache! It would lift the skis maybe 3-4' and although never measured it had to cut my accel times considerably. It made the sled so much more fun, I didn't realize how much I was spinning as a shortie. My new BTX 153x1.75 same thing Accel is insane but with only 1-2' of ski lift. I run no studs in the long tracks (I hated the thought of this but once I tried it I was sold! I had over 300+ in my 121" track). It does push some in the corners but its not horrible, steers great with brakes. I can still out ride anyone on a shorty. I'm 40 in shape and not scared of speed and this long track doesn't slow me down, if anything I'm faster on a corner exit when it hooks and doesn't spin! Try to ride one if you haven't. (141/153)

Dan, if you are concerned about transfer, maybe try the new 146 skid, as it is supposed to shine in that department.
