2020 Yamaha Snowmobiles

I am disappointed there isnt an all new chassis from yami. Pro cross is getting up there in age. It handles great but yami could come up with chassis that lowers the cog and handles as good or better. That being said.... im really interested in the stx gt 2 up. It should have better shocks on it and try to claim top 2 up sled. Im not ready yet. But if there is a left over this time next year. I may pull the trigger. Unless there is a new yami chassis next year. But those odds appear very slim.

Anyone who spends 17000+ on a snowmobile has more money than brains. If you turn your own wrenches you know what exactly your buying. A motor, light weight junk aluminum, a gas tank and seat. I could see if better materials were being used like carbon fiber, high tech strong light metals, carbon graphite bearings. Superior engineering to bring the best of the best. Its insane that any manufacturer can get away with charging what they charge for a disposable machine. You spend 17000 put on 2k miles and it's worth 12000 awesome. Maybe if people stopped buying this junk; sled prices would come back down to to 6k new like they used to be; which is really what any sled should be worth. Just exactly how much engineering goes into a decal change and some body flares. I say keep what you have for a sled and let all manufactures sweat. We are all suckers and sled manufacturers rely on that. I hope yamaha doesn't snow check a single sled.

Well I know they'll be snowchecking at least 1

Well yeah imagine! Enjoy the new decals. Sure some major HP gains with the new ECU flash. :/ On the other hand it may start without cranking it over and over.

Haven't had any issues to date, and I'll enjoy my new rear suspension along with the new decals

Do you guys think the new front arms/spindles would bolt on to the previous years sidewinders?

Just read through the article on snowmobile.com It's like cat and Yamaha have some weird, divorced, shared custody agreement. Cat gets the two stroke side and Yamaha gets the 4 stroke side and each gets an orphan. Thundercat 4 stroke for Cat and 2-stroke Transporter for Yamaha. What that means for the future I'm not sure.

There isn’t really a divorce going on... there might be something else going on that sort of explains why the 2020 Cat line is almost exclusively 2 Strokes and Yamaha 4 Strokes. What happens in the end is anyone’s speculation. I posted this little bit of info in another thread, but I’ll leave it here as well.

From a recent SEC filing:

Textron is in the third month of its restructuring plan that resulted in
product rationalization and the elimination of approximately 400 positions of Textron Specialized Vehicles’ /Arctic Cats' workforce, the closure of several factory-direct branch locations and a manufacturing facility. The restructuring actions also included the re-branding of some vehicles in the ATV line up back to Arctic Cat. However this plan has not produced the results that were expected in the operating results for these businesses. With that said we are looking at all of our options including the sale of the snowmobile segment.

Pretty quiet around here, almost criket like. Lol!:brrr: maybe next year, or next century.:dead:

wow those Y engineers are really working hard at coming up with something new.
