2021 snowmobile jackets

I just got an accessory catalog last weekend at the dealership.

I will spare you all the experience of seeing me IN the jacket, but had to post a good picture of it for people to see. It is the nicest looking branded jacket I have ever owned! Everyone in the dealership was admiring it!!!

It does seem odd that some of us are having issues getting jackets, I have never had an issue before, this year included. Usually I do so at the snow show however as my dealer doesn't stock any sled branded riding gear and I like to see and try on if I can. That wasn't an option this year so thankfully they had no issue ordering and recieving the jacket. They still didn't have any accessory catalogs, so thanks again to Jaret for getting us the part number! I am guessing that this year in particular, covid is having an impact on the supply chain...
very nice jacket, very sharp!! Joe

Ya that thing is pretty sweet you may be the only one in the states that has one ;)!

Looks great! Happy it worked out.

I am not sure why some are having trouble securing jackets. Will raise the question with the team.

Thanks for the reply and follow up Jaret.

You're about the only person on the OEM level in this industry that actually shows an appreciation for your consumers and it's much appreciated.

That is truly an example of the "Yamaha Advantage."

Cheers!

I sure hope Yamaha comes thru for you guys wanting to secure one of these jackets. I have the 50th anniversary edition of this same jacket and absolutely love it. Its very comfortable, warm, blocks wind, plenty of pockets and a hood. Never had a hood on a snowmobile jacket and I almost removed it, glad I didn't, use it all the time when stopped. Now I would never own a jacket without a hood. There are plenty of vents for air flow and the liner is removeable if it gets really warm out.

Great news if your in the market for one of these new jackets. Power Sports 1 has them in stock now, I just ordered mine and they will ship.

Update: We are currently working towards a solution to the back orders currently in the system. There have been some challenges with regards to inventory and sell through at this time.

I will update everyone as this evolves, as mentioned above some dealers did book and bring in these jackets for stock so it may take some calling around to locate one in stock.

We are also looking at the ordering process for Jackets in the future and options to improve it.

Thanks,
Jaret

My dealer just reported that Yamaha is completely out of the silver/orange jackets and they are back ordered until the middle of January.

Thanks to info that was posted on this thread I made a few calls and was able to source the jacket that I was looking for at a dealer since Yamaha is still showing a ETA of February for the jacket. It seems that those dealers who placed their orders early to have inventory for stock to start the season were able to get them. The supply from Yamaha must have been adequate to supply those orders but once they ran out it sounds like nothing is available until later in the season.

I believe this whole Covid thing has really messed up the supply chain of so many things. I'm grateful that Yamaha/Arctic Cat was able to deliver the Spring Power Surge sleds on time and that I've got a new sled to ride this season. With an even earlier delivery time than I expected it's given me time to get my list of "enhancements" installed on the sled before the snow flies.

Ya I have noticed the bigger dealer's seem to have more stuff to offer than some of the smaller ones. That's to bad because I think there will be lot's of money to be made this winter if we have snow. The UTV market took off like a rocket this summer and I think snowmobile season will follow as long as there places open to stop at. This whole covid carp needs to go away but I'm afraid certain individuals will push this to the bitter end.

@VX1R mind if I ask where, and if it was a local dealer?
Powersports 1 in Appleton, WI got me hooked up. I tried Port Yamaha first as I've always had good luck with them in the past, but no go. I also checked with most of the dealers in the Twin City area without any luck.

Good luck Carbide with your search and I hope that you'll find that jacket you need. ;)!

US has ordered jackets from existing stock (CAN or Supplier) to fill the majority of the current back orders.

If you are looking for a Jacket there are two options:

Option #1: Locate a Jacket currently in stock at a dealer. (Quickest)
Inventory was brought in to cover the dealer's orders. This is why some dealers that placed an order or "Booked" jackets will have inventory while others will not. Calling around although not ideal will be the quickest way to find a jacket in stock.

Option #2: Place an order with your dealer, allow it to go to back order
If an order goes to back order we have visibility of that and NA SMB (US and Canada + Supplier) have been working together to fill back orders from existing stock.

Jacket inventory is limited. Production is complete, with the long lead times we cannot build more Jackets. We are reviewing options now to bring in some Renegade FX jackets from Canada to help shorten the US lead times, however very limited QTY's will be available.

Carbide: I would recommend those two options above, looking at inventory across NA SMB there are some of those Silver CX Jackets available to fill a back order situation, I am not sure if in your size but I would move quick if you want to secure one.

Thanks for your patience everyone as we work through this, we have started a plan for next year to improve this process.
