New sled had one hell of a loud rattle as both flat steel support bars that are mounted on outside of rear shock on both sides had 1/4” of play and you could rattle the one side with your hand.. Has anyone else run into this issue?

Don't worry about it. Go ride it and you wont hear a thing under there.

Just got done studding it and was adjusting track tension on a stand and the rattle was all I could hear. Checked my 17 and they were nice and tight and no movement.. So what changed and why is what I was wondering.. To temporary fix I installed O Rings top and bottom to take up space and it did stop the noise and I suspect these won’t last very long…Thanks for your response Mike…

I had that problem on my 22, when I had it apart for maintenance, I put some grease on it and put the red garden hose washers on each side, fit perfect and has lasted since

Finalized my 17 LTX-LE's preseason maintenance a few weeks ago, and noticed that those side support (Rear Shock) did have some play when it was lifted off my concrete floor. Checked to make sure they were tight, and they were! Never thought to do any more testing on those, like dropping the sled to see if they have pressure on them then, whereas the suspension has always been quiet to me! Dam, now you have me wondering, but next season all shocks will come off for rebuilds,(4th time), so I shall look at it closer then and see why they are designed with that bit of side play, unless of course something fails under there during this season!

Never thought to use those.. You had the same line of thinking and I like your fix, cheap and available….. just something to take the play out… Well done….

Doesnt make a bit of difference when on the snow riding. You're not going to hear it.

Like I said, just go ride it and forget about it. Wasting any effort on it is just that, wasted effort as they are tight when on the ground riding.

Your knowledge is endless and we respect your comments and that you take time to post .

Yea I typically here this sound when I first take em off the trailer(clean skid) and run them around. After they get running down the trail and snow packs into skid it goes away.
