2018 Sidewinder LTX 137" Suspension issue

I have 4 years of warranty left but for this, I just sent the center and rear to Ian @ Monster Perf as it will get rebuilt and re-valved for my weight and style. Hopefully no issues going further.

I personally would just get the shock rebuilt, u would have better chance of getting a better job on the shock than a new one . Just a heads up there is zero grease on shock pivot points from factory. The center black spring off a old 99 sxr 700 center shock , almost looks the same rate springs as the sidewinder lol . Will be testing these soon .

I was a little disappointed my rear shock still had good pressure in it 185-190 (best I could tell) . I was hoping for a improvement by just a rebuild, looks like have to reshim a little stiffer

The trick with the hill is to go faster, and try to miss at least half the garbage...wear and tear reduced 50%! That place can get knarly for sure! Good workout, especially 2 up!! Neat thing about the hill seasonals, at least, the same nasty bumps appear in roughly the same places. I forgot about one heading back down north road...a real sharp edged deep one, just as I was passing a bud....thought I broke the apex in half...lol! SW does a nice job on them though...
Tug Hill is one of the roughest places there is!!! I have seen a freshly groomed trail turn into foot and a half moguls in a few hours yet no one ever slows down.

That's where I trained...LOL! I began riding the Boonville Tug Hill region in 1974, on skiroules!! A friend had a northway, and an elan. No grooming back then. So I was really impressed when 2 Yamaha Phazers just blew past us, in the late 80s....us on doo prs chassis...462 and a 583 plus....tried our best...lol...the first ski doo that could take bumps was my 93 mxz. We learned to ride the junk on this stuff. Actually used to make a short snocross track in the back field to practice for the hill, and see what broke first on my ck3 machs. Usually lost windshield tabs and exhaust springs, and a front arm, but they were tough for their weight. Then the zx chassis sleds were much better, but not as stable as the heavyweights over 80. Being used to the weight and bumps, I went for reliability, thus my conversion to 4 strokes. Never looked back since they worked for me! Just had to know which bumps you were good at!! But lots of yammy w arms got welded!!
I was in good shape then...the sleds today are too easy to ride...lol.
As an aside to how some can make the tankers go, there was a time when guys on heavy thundercat triples terrorized the Hill!

Center shock rebuilt nitrogen was around 165 , stiffen up shim stack and put on straight rate spring . Should be a lot less for turning effort with this and snow trackers , will test next weekend . Hope it’s somewhere close to my apex ... lol

Mine was doing this last year. The rear shock was blown. Had it rebuilt. Pretty sure it happened riding 2 up on Tug Hill with my seat jack. Me and the GF were running 12"+ chop at about 50 mph to just get it over with.
Oh maybe you are the man,who had a pic of seat jack on 137 SW red and white? My buddy may buy a 141 xtx se and is looking at seat jacks, his wife is a tall fit female, but she may be a little on the heavy side on that seat, she is not fat,but large and fit.

Mine was the blue one.

My GF is tiny. 5'2" 115ish.

Combined with gear on we probably weigh around 330 or so. It works but bottoms a lot when it gets rough.

Now she has her own ride. No more 2 up unless I'm playing designated driver in the evening.

All the shocks take 200psi Nitrogen.

Yes I know I was just checking for a ruff pressure that was in them before rebuilding . rear was about 190 centre shock was down to 165 . I have stiffened both compression stacks now . Had to wait on Rear shock didn't have the half inch centre hole shims I wanted. But just finished last night ready to test this weekend. I was really beating up the rubber stops on the rails

The control arms that run parallel to the rear shocks & both rear & centre shock mount s have zero grease from factory , for the guys planning on keeping the cat chassis longer than a couple years .

The two wheels closest to the rear shock mount are really sloppy on mine , will probably switch to the 19 wheel setup out side the rails

This is the wheel set up on the 19s with a diff shock bracket, & wheel mounts outside rails
