Hi, looking for help diagnosing a problem with a 240 turbo kit. I installed the kit myself except for the headshim, which was done by a local mechanic. When I first went to start the sled it would not start. It would crank fine. I found that I can get it to start if I hold the throttle wide open and can keep it running with the throttle partially held, It will not idle.
Any input would be greatly appreciated
I have disconnected the fuel to the secondary injectors as per MCXpress instructions but it made no difference.
I have checked and double checked all connections.

Sounds like the cam timing might be off.

Agreed you should check cam timing

Thanks, I had the head shim and head studs done by someone else. I aligned the marks on the stator and took the valve cover off to inspect. Timing definitely off. So out the engine comes.

you dont have to take the engine out to retime the motor. can be done inside the sled if you so choose. Just have to undo the rear engine mount and tilt the motor forward so you can access the tensioner

I'm getting good at it now. I pulled it out and setup the timing to exactly what my shop manual said and its still off. After some searching I found people saying that the stator should be set at the II mark and not the I mark like the manual said. Can anybody confirm this?

With the head shim isnt there a different procedure for timing the cams? I thought you had to slot the cam gears because the shim is raising the head.

Go to mcx.se/manualer and read how to install the CAM.
