I found a cross reference one from Napa here in Canada. Get it in a few days, if its what I wanted and it fits ,I will post the part number. As a backup i have a buddy bringing a couple of the O reilly ones home from Florida when he is done snowbirding.Agree. I'm in MN so OReilly is common. I wouldn't mind the kink so much if it wasn't exactly where fuel pump suction port is! That's why I searched and found that one from OReilly with 90 deg connection fitting.
That sock works off Cappilary action. Kinking it won’t hurt flow at all and more importantly it helps keep the pump from bouncing around in the reservoir eventually breaking the wires. Shitty design.

Hey, all thought I'd ask here since the thread is the most relavent.
I have a 2017 sidewinder mtx and my current issue is the sled will either flat out die or if the sled is turned off won't restart on a steep downhill at about 1/3rd to 1/2 tank depending.
Once it has been flattened out it restarts just fine.
Obviously this can be a pretty serious issue out in the back country. I was told it could be the pickups or maybe the oil level in the tank (i keep it at the recommended level).
It has a MCX 250 tune and a can as far as power mods go.
Any advice would be helpful, I am currently looking at the return line mod and/or full kit.

I would do the return modification. It just so much sense to keep that banana reservoir full of fuel.

It's easy enough to do the mod, and I'm not sure why they are not built this way in the first place. It will also give you a chance to make sure the front pickups are in the proper place too and not causing a problem with fuel pickup.

I've seen issues like this with a few sleds in my shop. Customers sometimes drop sleds off with what looks like 1/4 tank on gage. Sometimes when trying to run sleds on a stsnd, they stutter and surge due to being out of gas. These were sleds without gas return to tank. It makes me think that the two pick up pads in the tank are not laying on the bottom of the tank. I think over time, the hose in the tank might curve or distort. For my own sled, I actually added weight right at the pads to keep them on the bottom of tank.
