On the front end being unpredictable as far as cruising through the corner at speed vs. feeling like you're going to highside, getting the same thing here too. Have about the same amount of time on mine, have tried the same stuff. I've found when I get up on the front end and use a little more "body english" it does make a big difference, seems more predictable anyway. Doesn't seem to surprise you with the high side crap - until it catches you sleeping - and then you're wide awake again!
We share the same opinion regarding the Ripsaw in the corners. I think it's the riding style..... You might want to check out this new Cobra that Camo has just come out with. It's on my want list. Here's what Camo says about it:
Next generation high-performance trail track with cupped lugs. Gives better acceleration in soft or loose snow, yet without sacrificing top end speed OR THE ABILITY TO SLIDE THE BACK END of your snowmobile.
Apparently, we aren't the only ones complaining of too much side bite. The stuff I've read about it sounds like they are talking about the Predator. This thing carries a higher profile also. Link:

I just went out and rode my buddys 99 XC 600 and man o man I sooooo wish I could get tis FX to whip around like that or my 99 SRX!
I remember my 04 Viper S was had almost the exact same personality in the corners as the FX but I always wrote it off as being the longer travel compared to my 99 SRX but now Im almost convinced that the ripsaw 1.25 AND the ski's were the culprets.
At this point I hate to invest over $400 on that Cobra track and I ca get a nice 128 x 1 Hacksaw for $200. You got me thinking though!!

TY 4 Stroke Master
Yup, came off a whole string of Indy/Gen II/Edge sleds the same way. I think that's called balance (that's what I call it anyway!). That's something that seems to be lacking here, but not sure why/what yet? The satisfaction from finding that info will be part of the grin I'll wear when I do! Best of luck on yours. -Al
unchained, yea the 128 would probably do what you are looking 4.

Now I just cant decide what 128 to use.orange said:unchained, yea the 128 would probably do what you are looking 4.
14 x 1" hack for max speed but possibly make it even tippier
15 x 1" hack
Or New Cobra track that supposedly is designed for good speed and to also allow the #*$&@ end to get around
The 15 x1 hack is the cheapest and thats what Im leaning towards and would then add about 153-170 1.175 studs
Any opinions appreciatted.....

I have a 128 cobra on my Nytro and yes it will let the rear-end come around. When you start in a corner just touch the brake and it will come around but is controlable. This is the way it was in the old days and I like it.

I just bought a 128 x 15 x 1 Hack for $189. I like the Cobra but for $400 + and still have a really scary loose rear end when decelerating was my deciding factor. The 1" with 153 studs should be fine for Michigan trail riding.
