Wow boys, this is real stuff, I love it ,makes me feel right at home, I'm always bashing my counterparts brand sleds and visa/versa. That has been part of snowmobiling for as long as I have been in the sport, over 35 years. The one thing you can't say about YAMAHA is, they are winning races. In the day's of ovals YAMAHA was there, now is the day of Snocross and were is YAMAHA ? I think they have given it up since they got there A&% handed to them in past years Snowcrosses and have decided to persue reliability ! HUH, maybe that's why we have 3 YAMAHA 's in my family, they are reliable compared to some brands. You always hear how YAMAHA has left alot on the table whether it be clutching or engines, sure the clutches don't utilize full shift ratios but that is also why you get incredible mileage out of them ,same with the engines, always mild in their stock form but engineered to outlast other brands, so in short, if I were strickly racing I also would have to think about going someplace else, but I'm not, so here I am !! KEEP IT UP !!! Bring back the frikkin SRX and do something great to it, will ya .

Yamaha does not have recalls so they do not to replace in warranty and they call it an update. Every other manufacturer normally covers any item that prevents the sled from operating at expected levels. Yamaha does not officially tell you anything such as links, gotta pay, sway bar gotta pay, proper front springs gotta pay, garbage rear shock and spring gotta pay etc.. Yamaha is far from perfect but most people on this site are totally myopic and cannot see beyond blue.
I chose the RX1 knowing all of the above but get your head out of your butts and see the real world not the one youe are looking at thru blue glasses.

so realy what is your point here about recalls ..
Wait just a minute here, the RX-1 has had Zero recalls :!:
no well here we go DAN
#1 carbs on rx1 mnt,
#2 seats,
#3 rivests on tunnel
#4 links, and swaybar
but yamaha dont have recalls that they pay out of there pockets they are the smart ones they make us buy them so they dont have too spend there money ..
so realy cat has free updates .. that they pay for for .
and 1 more thing WHAT GIVES YOU GUYS THE RIGHT TO BITCH ABOUT F7? none of you that cry have owned a f7 ..
i have and also own a rev800ho . i do know what they have for prob's
and they all have there faire share of them .
bottom line is we have to put tons of money in our rx1 to even compet with a f7 or a f6 or a rev .. to try and beat a stock f7 ... or a stock f6 ...
I agree that all 4 things you listed were issues, but where I disagree with you is that Yamaha did pick up the tab for all except the longer links.
I'll say it again, they aren't recalls!
PS I talked with a buddy last night that was in the UP this week. He was with two guys with 04 F-7's and both of them had to be taken to a dealer. He didn't elaborate on what was wrong only that it screwed their plans. They didn't expect 2 new sleds needing service on their first trip of the season.

I kind of feel sorry for you buddy. If the ONLY reason you bought an RX was to out gun an F7, you purchased the wrong sled.
BTW, after I don't know how many passes accross a 1/3 mile lake last weekend, my buddy (with an 04 F7 EXT) and I decided to call the afternoon a draw.... it was THAT close..... and I have not put ONE NICKEL into my Warrior.
a f7 ext is way different then a rx warroir the ext has a 144 track and you have a 136 . so if you and he are calling it a draw that is not too good if your warrior did not beat him every time as hes got way more track and rotation mass to move that track and skid .. so put your 136 up to a 128" and see 99% of the time it will feed your hand to your #*$&@ ...

I did not look for it or see it, but many different people posted the same names, and then someone said it dissappeared. Marketing ploy?
And as far as recalls, one friend rode the crap out of mine last year, and loved it. I didn't like the handling or rear shock calibration. He was happy with all the stock settings, as he rides with one ski in the air all the time anyway, full tilt. I'm not as physco. He would not want any changes. I did, trying to make it suit my style better. I shimmed the rear progressive spring, and it works better than my Ohlins adjustable rear RX under most conditions. I would say the spring rates on the 03's were too soft all around. At least for me.

Jesus I guess some people are not happry unless they argue about one frickin thing or another. Rx1xtreem I dont know you but you seem very unhappy about your sled. I hope you have better luck with an Arctic cat. I am not completely satisfied with the rear suspension on my sled but I am working on the setup. As far as ski lift the longer links and adjusting my riding style a bit have made alot of difference without all of the other stuff. I noticed if you let of gas to hard it seems like the motor drags the sled down like the brakes are on hard into the cornewr this drops the front end and made the ski lift 10 times worse. I have had some small issues with every sled I have ever owned and I have 1 cat 1 skidoo and 1 yamaha right now. My parents have 2 Polaris's so I would have to say I am pretty rounded. Ride wise I would pick the Polaris handling my Skidoo eats up bumps if you are driving it hard and will take a corner like its on rails regardless if I am 2 up or by myself it feels like the suspension just doesnt care as long as its close. Artic Cat you have to admit they are real fast. My Yammi I am not real sure yet I love the torque and pull of the 4 stroke reliability we will have to see. I only have about 1000 miles on it. They all have there good points and bad. But I have said it once and I will say it again I have had to many friends with too many problems with there NEW Arctic cats to be just a one sled thing and this has gone on for years. Maybe they try to push what they have to hard for what it is I dont know but I have 1 friend 3 major motor problems in 400 miles. Cat finally did send them a complete motor to replace whatever the problem was(they couldnt find it) and he is running good now. ZL900 my other buddy burned that one up once and those are just what I consider major. Parents Polaris's Moms overheats wen she drives to slow on hard packed trail thats it in 5 years dads nothing. My Skidoo burned down once for no aparent reason hard to tell why. I have seen others by I dont take to much to heart when they mess with the clutching and jetting and stuff then run them wide open for 6 miles down the lake and it burns down. Thats your own damn fault. After about a half a mile its not going to go any faster no point in seeing if it will blow.

the only time i was happy with my rx1 was on asphalt that was it it ran good . and i have a f7 and a rev BM7C 800 HO and it rocks too ...
just look at haydays and the woody chalange and you will see yamaha is not there any more its all cat and some doo ..
they should have keeped the srx and change the rear skid and add more in the front ..

Xtreem Math ?
Marc,
Me thinks your math and conclusions are flawed regarding the tracks and mass.
I believe 136" x 15" = 2040 square inches of track for the Warrior.
I think the Cats are 144" X 13" = 1872 square inches for the EXT
Therefore all other things being equal, the Warrior appears to be spinning about 8% more track than the 144" EXT Cat.
I can not find the Cat track spec's for lug height nor do I know the weights of both. Perhaps my math is false but it appears good to me.
I think I can rest assured you will correct me if I am wrong.
That being said though, I agree with your premise that if I want to go fast for short distances in sanctioned races, I would be riding a Cat.
However having owned them all over 28 years and tens of thousands of miles, if I want to be sure to get home under my own steam year after year, its gotta be a Riceburner.
Different strokes for different folks I think they say.
Good luck with the Cat.
Let us know what you want for the RX1. I am sure, for the right price, someone here will be happy to take that pig off your hands.

Hey RX1Extreem, How do you like your C&A's there? I need new skis and I was pondering C&As
With respect to the accessories for the new sleds in the Yamah motor site, I did a search with keywords Rage and another time with Vector and both results showed accessories for the Rage 2005 and Vector 2005
Pretty neat, can't wait till the details.

Yamaha did the same thing last year, the listed the sled names on the accessory page then took it down a few days later. Just a marketing ploy to create excitement, It worked too. 8)

Your dam right it worked Kieth....I saw the names yesterday as well.
Just spend some time on the other sites if you don't believe it was to create excitement.
