I am in the process of installing the Yamaha brand 4th wheel kit. my problem is after I put it all together, I only have a little section of the axle sticking out for the wheel to slide onto. Did I do something wrong or what else could it be? Thanks

I also added the billet wheels, the bearings are the 6304 size in the billet wheels. Are the stock phazer wheel bearings not as wide? Is that where I lost the width? I no longer have the stock wheels to look at and the other phazer is out in storage for the summer and I really don't want to drive 45 minutes to pull off a wheel to measure so any help would be great, Thanks

Have you already made sure that you are using the correct parts and leaving the sorrect stock parts out?

Another possibility, is the kit for the phazer or other Yamaha sleds? The phazer has a narrower track then other sleds but I'm not sure about if the skid it self is narrower.

The left and right inner spacers should be same length. You can see the one on right is shorter than one on left.

I am thinking that the bearings on the billet wheels are wider than the stock wheel bearings.

14", 15", 16" wide tracks make no difference. The width of the skids are the same. Took a 15" track and cut it to 14", no problem.

I'm thinking that you might have used too many washers. My problem was actually the reverse where the axle wouldn't tighten down as it was sticking out just a little too much so I had to add a washer.

Double check the bearing part numbers...a 6200 series bearing is 3mm wider than the stock 6000 series bearing. If the billet wheels use a 6204 or 6205 bearing, you'll have to trim the collars 3mm shorter.

When you are done, you can measure each wheel's distance from the skid rails and cross reference them with the other idler wheels at the front of the suspension and make sure they line up.

that's what I was thinking after I measured the front wheels and found the rear billet wheels are out more, thanks again for every ones input.

do they make a collar that is 3mm shorter? or should I just take them into a machine shop and have 3mm taken off? Thanks again for the info.

Make sure you only trim the two outer collars. Either take it in to a machine shop and have them trimmed... or do it yourself.
