i ordered a set of 6.9 pilots for my attak because everyone on here said they are the end all be all.
now i am hearing they dart more than other possible combonations such as the stock ski with dartless.
whats up with this and can anyone give me an opinion that has acctually tried the 6.9 skis
thanks

This is the first year that I have the 6.9 on my sled. I'm running a APEX RTX 144" and I only have 4" carbides down the middle I dont run the outside carbide. And I have had every llittle dartig. If I would put on the outside carbide i'm sure there would be no darting at all.

I have run pilot 6.9's on my attak for 3 years now. They are a GREAT improvement over the oem skis. I run a Stud Boy 6" shaper bar in the center and a 4" ski doo bar on the outside. Only on some hardpack with deep grooves do I have any darting. And the difference in turning effort has to be felt to believe!
Probably the best single improvement I made to the sled.....
Best regards, Chuck

I never said that the Pilots were the be all end all, so everyone didn't say it. They are a whole lot better than the stockers though. Eliminating darting completely is impossible...as trail conditions are not always perfect. Ruts from previous sleds that have hardened on the trails will cause skis to dart, some skis more than others. I don't believe there is a ski out there that will stop darting altogether.
The best way to reduce your skis from darting is to avoid ruts from previous sleds.

Re: skis
They are the width of the ski in inches, kind of a mish mash of standard and metric. The ones on the Sled Werx site are the 5.7s.

That's my exact set-up too. Very little darting with light steering and goes where I point it. I still have the inside ski lift, but a 13 mm sway bar should fix or at least lesson it.
