It really doesn't seem like this should be one of the great mysteries of life, but there is so much variation in the experiences of different riders that it surely seems that way! Is there that much variation between sleds, or belts, or riders? I am a trail rider, riding 100-200 miles a day, and pretty heavy on the throttle when trails and conditions allow. After my sled broke in, I was seeing 94+ mph on the speedo, and the gps, on straight flat runs and good conditions. I was still seeing that on the last run of the season in mid-April. After 2300 miles, my 8jp has left some belt dust in the belly pan, but it looks great. Did I just "get lucky" and get a good belt, and a good sled? I just put on an OSP adjuster, but I am beginning to think that maybe I should have left it stock because I probably won't be able to adjust it as well as it came from the factory!
