Hi, i have a 2012 Fx Nytro XTX
I was crossing a railway on the trail. Was going no more than 10km/h. Right carbide hook up a bit on my way across and when i got to the other side the sled was harder to handle . Stopped to check my right a arm was pushed back, right shock pushed and bent against the a arm. Subframe definitely bent. Right tip ou ski about 5-6 inches further back than left side.
Is this common?
How do I fix it?
How much should it cost?
thanks

- something from 2019!
yes its common
large pipe solid floor a few beers and some torque should bend it back in place then contact member grizztracks for his beefup kit.
new subframe is about 500, and if you need new a-arms used around 250-400 aftermarket 900-2000

Try.... yamahapartsnation.com..I just ordered a lower a-arm for $220.00 plus whatever delivery charge..they wanted any where from 300.00 to 450.00 anywhere around Winnipeg.I have ordered quad parts before and prices were also way better. They come in Yamaha labelled bags so I'm assuming the are not aftermarket crap.

I'm lucky the rock only tweaked mine about 3/8" so I just realigned it and am riding it. Good luck on getting it fixed.

Welcome to the bent subframe club! It is a constantly growing club with members joining daily. I used a steel bar to straighten mine and continue to ride as is.
Depending on how handy you are as a welder/fitter, you can beef up the frame yourself or purchase a ready made first rate kit from grizztracks (will still need welder). You will find many a forum on this topic as it is too common. Good Luck and ride on brother!
A new frame from Yamaha (not any stronger just new) is in the $400 ballpark...

Actually the Yamaha frame is over 500 bucks. Grizztracks will trade your bent frame for a beefed up frame for half the price. The "Grizz" frame is definitly better too. Recently I hit a tree laying across the trail so hard I actually sheared off the bolts that attach the lower A-arm to the subframe and cracked the bushings. The frame was not bent! Only damage was the bolt hole were egged out a little. This says alot for the Grizztracks gusset kit.

search Grizztracks user name and his post on how to bend things back before you take it apart and then how to fix it should show up. It is best to bend it back before you take it apart.
