I would like to say a special thanks to Tom for all the effort and hard work that goes into giving us all an opportunity to enjoy the sport that we all love so much.
This was my first TY ride, and I have to say, it was more than an awesome experience to finally meet many of the people whom I've only known by their screen names, and online posts. To any of those people who read this who haven't been on a ride, or are just 'lurking' around on TY, I can say that the experience is absolutely priceless. You owe it to your self to join the fun. This was so much more than I expected, and everybody who attended made me feel welcome, and it was almost as if I had been in attendance for years.
Until this weekend I had never had the oportunity to meet any fellow TY'ers in person, and frankly I was very nervous to do so. I had spoken to a few members that live near me (Familyman, maxdlx,), but never met anybody in person.
Upon arriving at Alger Falls Inn, I introduced myself to a few of the people who were there, and my nervousness quickly went away. I was overwhelmed by the generosity of the entire group, and the sense of comraderie among all the people who kept trickling in. I was amazed at how close everybody was to each other. I could immediately tell that I was in the company of some great people.
After finally meeting Tom (Mr. Sled) and starting to get to know him, I quickly gained a huge respect for him. Learning how much work it takes to keep the site going, and for all the planning and effort that goes into putting together all these rides and gatherings, I felt both humbled and privelaged to be able to enjoy the results of his (and other members') hard work. To all those who have shared the burden, Thank You.
I gained at least 30 new friends this weekend, and each and every one of them are truly great people. TY has done so much for all of us, and I want to personally thank you, Tom for the privelage to be a part of it. You truly are a class act, a great person, and what you do for all of us can't be measured.
Thank you.
