I use a fibreglass textile coated in aluminum on one side. It's made from the same material as header wrap. Glue it to the tank with the aluminum out. I have added a few layers for good measure.
I have also removed all aluminum heat shields and replaced then with custom made shields made out of this material to cover the header, turbo, downpipe and fuel tank. The material is available in large sheets like 3 by 4 feets or even larger.

Or you can purchase a Turbo Blanket, see my member pic. I have had it on for two seasons, works great!

It's not adhesive, but here is how I extra insulated the heat shield on my Nytro.
When I had the shield off, I cut 4 equal length pieces of fiberglass wrap, riveted them to the top of the shield.
I had to stick my hand in there to adjust the throttle cable a few weeks back, it barely gets warm under the tank.

I also run a Garrett turbo blanket in addition to the fabric. I bought the fabric locally here in Norway, don't know the manufacturer. Every Automotive turbo car shop should have it in stock.
