javascript:emoticon('') i have 2014 yamaha sr viper with header pipe air box mod and commander from hurricane performance are having problem with cold air intake light coming on wild driving and killing the power of the sled has any else has this problem after moding air box

Going to be installing mine on Thursday night and hopefully ride Friday. Do you have any pics of the airbox? Sounds like 3 up top over the air horns and 1 on the lower half of the airbox toward the front of the sled.

air box mod problem

before u do this mod here is what we think that is screwing things up is that the front hole is sucking in hot air from the fan and pushing it into the air box and the cold air intake is picking that up pushing the gauge to hot then it starts to loose power i have blocked off the botttom one and that has brough down the cold air intake gauge to normal i will take sled out tomorrow and try it with all the holes taped off and see how it works

Interesting. Did you ping Dave at hurricane to check? I wonder if relocating the sensor would work too?

i really dont know yet i called dave on monday morning to ask him about the air cold temp that the sled was running he did not know that it has one he did mention that i could try to locate it but that is not the answer i have a fix for it and will see how that goes i will let u know i did ask hie if he had sold any of the kits to any one else and he said yes and that the sled was flying. the guy went to a race and got beat in the final by 700 cat with boost that dont work down here in n.b stay in ur class by the way i think dave is a good guy and will help fix it

Dave should know about the sensor as it has to be mounted to the frame on turbo installs.

If I were you guys I would put those K&N filters on. Way better and sounds bad #*$&@! I had them on my Nytro!

tested sled last night but only on the river it felt pretty good the 8bu are wild on the trailer some people may find to revvy but they turn on real quick doing some test ing today on air stripe that will let me know just how good that r heard that yamaha race team r using them and i can see y

now i think that we have air box fixed sled turning 8900 to 9000 1200 to 1500 should on clock 101 mph marked 660 foot strip sled layed right on 90 mph working pretty now have 750 miles on sled
