Alpha intake question

A guy wants to sell me this intake setup tomorrow. Why does it look it's coming up short, like it's missing an extension to go out to the front near the screen? Junk or what?

Looks like same one i run on my winder, only mine is blue in color.

Missing anything important? I thought most of them extend further into the screen? Idk?!?!

Alpha didn't sell a prefilter in their kit, just the filter itself.

No that note, I wondered if this filter is available with an open top with pleated filter?
Question #2 does this filter require k&n style oil B4 install?!?!

I'm not sure who made the filter for Alpha, it is not a K&N filter. There may be a K&N with the attributes you are looking for, you'd have to just do some searching. I always ran them dry.

Small specre universal filter from o'rileys with a barb fitting is what i use on my sleds.
