Another 2008 Nytro MTX spring question

I recently purchased an almost new 40th Anniversary Nytro MTX and it is sitting in the garage patiently waiting for snow. I have made due for the time being researching this thing to death on this site and making a few minor modifications already. I am looking at getting a heavier set of springs for the rear suspension because I am about 280lbs and from what I hear I will be bottoming out regularly with the springs on it now. The shocks are not rebuildable so I would need to upgrade them at some point but I think I will start with the springs. Would the 2100nm Apex MTX springs work well with the stock shocks or will it be like riding a park bench, or would I be better off with the 1500nm. I read somewhere that there was a 1900nm version available but I think that's for the short track Apex which may not fit. Is anyone running the 2100s with the stock shocks? I ride fairly aggressive, mostly off trail, and jump pretty much every snowdrift and hill I can put in front of me. Any suggestions? Thanks.

I bought a set of 2100's. I have 08 MTX I thought they were a bit stiff on trails ( I weigh around 250) I don't jump much. I would sell them for around $200.00.

Hey guys. What does the 09 MTX come with ,I may need to replace to .Im 230lbs.

I think the '09 has the same spring as the '08. I don't weigh 250 or 280(190) but I did change the springs. Used the 1500 and put an Ohlins rear shock in. The bottoming out dissappeared and things are good again. At 280 you may want something heavier though.

did you use the 1500 from the nytro mtx or the apex mtx. i went on the parts catalogue and they show two different #'s. mine rides good but i wouldn't mind getting the bottoming out fixed and have the suspension spring back more.

Just realize putting heavy springs on is going to change the shock valve stack requirements - maybe to the point of turning the sled into a bucking bronco! If you need them great, just suggesting you plan on a revalve as part of that move? The increase in spring tension will likely completely overwhelm the rebound side of the valve stack.....
