Has anyone ever switched back from Amsoil 0-40 to Yamalube 0-30 blended and found the engine much louder?
We have two 06 rage's, after the first year went to Amsoil 0-40 for each season service. This year found the noisey cam chains with stethescope. Dealer did cam chains tensioner at no cost with no warrenty, excelant. Also did service, Yamalube oil 0-30 blended and filter, not really my intention, my cost. Both engines seem extremely noisey at idle, checked with stethescope. Cam chain is better, but engine seems much noiseier than before. Wife went for 1st ride today and said "the engine sure is alot noiseier than it was last season".
Will go back to amsoil, but didn't want to do it till end of season.

I've run Yamalube 0W30, then Amsoil 0W40, then Castrol 0W30, and now Mobil 0W30. Never noticed any noise difference between any of them, however, seemed to use a little Amsoil so switched from that. Are you sure it's not coming from the exhaust donuts?

Good thought I will check the exhaust donuts, they were supposed to be new with cam chain tensioner job. Both were noisey after the tensioner change, maybe forgot the donuts altogether.

You're right, all those parts should be new since had to be removed to replace the cam tensioner. Maybe something left loose.

Will try to get time tomorrow to do some checking.
