There are some quality after market ones available. Not to sure if it is a good/bad idea. Just seems a lot of
the car/truck turbos have the heat shield to keep heat contained. Any thoughts?
Since it didn't come with one is it better to let fresh air run over it?
Technically, hotter air will flow faster than hot air. Technically, the exhaust gases will flow faster the hotter it is. So, IMO containing the heat in the header or exhaust pipes will yield faster gas flow.
