Hurricane secondary intercooler

Found some gaps above the factory frog skin vents and letting snow in on my clutches when following close behind another sled.
Going to put some foam with sticky back in those areas to close the gaps between the hood and vents.
I believe the secondary clutch blows air up and out the vent ahead of steering stem.

Showing some wear from hood on intercooler.
Anyone have a fix for this?
Putting soft velcro in that area? Or cutting inside of hood so no rubbing occurs?
This intercooler works great trail riding. The temps recover so quick running corner to corner thru the UP trails.

Don't have that intercooler although the inner me has pulled the trigger numerous times, the outer me keeps talking myself out of it.

Velcro might wear out quickly although it will work fine for awhile. You can get both Teflon and UHMW in tape form. It will create a super slippery surface between the plastics and the intercooler without adding much thickness. If you put it on both the intercooler and the plastics it should just stop any wear. You can get it from wood working shops, amazon, etc.. they call it speed glide, anti-friction tape, etc.. Not sure how well the adhesives will work in super cold weather although the 3M version is rated well.

My best bet is to trim back the hood some so it won't rub in that area. The intercooler is bolted to the engine block so its a set distance with about 1/8" clearance on steering shaft.

Do you still have the factory air ducting on the hood ?

Intake removed from bottom of hood for a couple of years. Shows rub marks in picture.

My next question about the ducting would be how does it affect air flow thru cooler.
With the factory air ducting removed the intake in the hood became a vent to push air out from under the hood.

I was just trying to help your clearance issues. Personally mines removed as well . Also drill holes in the plastic just above and behind the stock inter cooler. The plastic right in front of the relay and fuse holder, and no never had any issues but I don’t do any off trail riding

Ill take any help with the clearance issue.
The picture in post 32 shows that area opened up with snow screens installed.
The majority of my riding is on trail and occasionally off trail.
Any issues with snowdust hitting cooler and then getting water on clutches creating belt slip?
If I come right up behind another sled and wait for a good spot to pass i get some belt slip at that time from the snow dust.
Thinking about sealing up the front of hood with foam above the factory vents and center section where the hood comes together.

Thinking about installing thick foam or a p seal across this area where the purple line is.
