Any truth to this snip-it I found on another site guys?

i'm llucky enough to have the yamaha test team in my backyard (literally)right now and let me tell ya,weight and ditch bangin' performance will soon be taken to the next level for four strokes!!!!!!

This confirms what I have been hearing. Mid February 05 intro to the market. Rider forward style, twin 4stroke, monoshock rear, maybe a turbo.

Now I wish I would have waited for 06 instead of getting the 05 RX1. I guess my wife will be needing a sled next year.

I've bought new sleds the last 4 years and she will shoot me if I do it again next year. I'll just have to try hers out!!

From what I hear Yamaha would like to get into this type of sled category-ditchbanger, lightweight (as there is a huge marketplace for it) and to get a sled to the X-cross series that can actually compete against the other 3 manufacturers.

As you said before Mighty and I also heard....
For those that love the Rev.........

Let's cross our fingers!!!!!!!! A lightweight, ditchbangin' four stroke with a turbo!
AHHHHHH music to my ears :4STroke:

Happens to me everytime I buy a sled........the next damn year they come out with some great stuff that i wish i knew about before i bought mine.....lol
Well.....I look at it like this....If you keep waiting to see what they come out with the next year....you will NEVER buy anything :D

snowmobile world Jason. It was within a post in the Yamaha forum. There is very little Yamaha activity on that site. This poster is from somewhere in Canada. This quote also rings very close to what my source has been hinting to me.

Just my 2 cents but even if they went this route with a factory turbo, the price of the sled would increase. How much, who knows? But being a car guy, most factory stuff is good to decent but is eventually swapped out for something better. So to pay more just to yank it out to get it's full potential seems like a waste of money in the initial cost of the sled.

This post was the first post by this DOO supporter ever on the Yamaha site, he is from Thompson Manitoba. Everybody ignored it.

Jim

Yamaha does a lot of testing in Thompson - I've met up with them, Cat and Polaris every spring that we've been up there. I'll make a call tomorrow to someone I know on Paint Lake and see what the story is.

I don't see Yamaha releasing anything in Feb as it is not their style. I could see them introducing something that can be snowchecked for 06.

I read an interesting article on the development of the mono shock rear suspension. It was originally built for their snow cross sleds and used in factory racing sleds in 1997 season, but never released to public. So now they release the mono shock suspension. Hmmm, it makes sense that a ditch banging sled will follow.

And if this comes true the rest of us will be real happy you bought that sled. We'll even provide you with the adult beverage of your choice.

Tommy's buying... :drink:
