Any truth to this snip-it I found on another site guys?

That's all well-and-good, but with my experience, you're better off waiting at least 3 years to get the model you REALLY want. I'll even venture to say that '06 Warriors will have a Monoshock too.

IF they're successful with a 4-stroke snow-X venture, I might just reconsider? We'll see? By that time I should have enough saved up. :ORC Me save? Yeah right.

Besides, when I figure out which OEM skid to use that'll make all the difference, and I'll be able to wait a little longer than usuall. I hope?

To be honest, I really like my Warrior and really don't have any plans on getting an 06. I am simply hoping that Yamaha will extend their lineup some for a broader appeal to more types of riders. I too have learned a lesson with my 03 RX-1 in regards to getting a first year product :ORC

Ive also heard very similar rumblings. Guys Imagine what this would mean to the racing world. Yamaha will once again proove all the experts wrong. Remember when they and Honda came out with 4 strock Motocross bikes. Everyone laughed. Now how much are they laughing. Outboards...etc. Its scary to think of what Yamaha could build if they wanted. Ill say it now, if the 3 other brands dont get on board with there 4 stroke programs, its big trouble for them. You watch 3 years from now, id almost bet Yamaha will reclaim its #1 position the snowmobiling world with regards to sales. I said it when the RX1 was unvieled in the spring of 02, If 4 strokes are snowmobilings future, im sure glad I like Blue.

One last note, we have 2 RX1s currently stripped down to nothing for turbo installs. It is absolutely incredible how well built this machine is. Intricate parts and pieces that fit perfetly, torque specs for every bolt on the sled, and just incredible engineering. Remove the valve cover and you say, WOW. How in the hell can all of that possible work. Cams, gears, chains, valves everywhere you look. A auto mechanic friend of mine said very often throughout the stripdowns, Wow, them japenese have Way too much time on there hands.

Bottom line, we are consumers of an extremely fine machine and I coulndt be more proud to ride a Yamaha...BBY

I got me an 03 and am quite happy with it. I will be waiting at least 2 more years before I get another sled. I knew I was the first to take the dive and also knew that there would be big changes coming but that is called PROGRESS. It is cheaper for me to add the upgrades I want then to fork out $9K every year. So when the next thing comes out that I gotta have, well then I'll have it. Until then we can all sit here and BS about the speculation. Hearing, seeing and riding are all totally different things. Man I sound like a dick don't I!!! Didn't mean too.

my wishlist is pretty short

- factory turbo/supercharged mtn sled 180-190hp that is 20lbs lighter than the Vector Mountain with a longer track option than 151

I heard that Yamaha said at last years dealer meeting that by 2007 they intend to be the #1 snowmobile manufacturer in sales beating the other 3.

If they got back into racing and started kicking A$$ I think they could easily do it.

I personally like the BIG CC's but a smaller, lighter and more powerful sled is the way to go. REV style??? Not sure yet...I'll let you know. 8) I love the reliability of the 4-stroke but really struggled with the weight (in specific situations like rough trails and deep snow). Plus I never hid the fact that I HATED that 03' skid, but that's fixed now ;)!

They will have to get into snow-X then. There are allot of Blair Morgan wanna-bees buying REV's (not implying anything RX wonder) and F-Cats. There will always be the die-hards, and Jap sled haters too.

Neither did I, RX Wonder, THAT's the way I was hoping to fix my skid too, but 1 year is too early for me, plus I think I can make it work eventually.

No problem...I am no Blair Morgan that's for sure.. ;)! ...I took the Acerbis handguards and "X" windshield off and replaced them with a SUMMIT high windsheild and mirrors!!!....I turned an "X" sled into a trail sled with a saddle bag..... 8)

Out of curiousity, what's your opinion on the EPA compliant two strokes Ski-Doo is running?? Personally, I think SD could make the two strokes a viable option for quite awhile yet....not as sure about Polaris and AC. There is not a doubt in my mind that if Yamaha REALLY WANTED TO, they could turn the snowmobile sales world upside down....they have, by far, the deepest pockets now that SD has been spun off from Bombarier.....but I really wonder if that is what they want to accomplish???

Let me tell you about skidoo 's supposedly epa friendly 2 strokes , my experience is this . My Dad has a 04 800 highmark adrenaline , we have an enclosed trailer. I always back my Yamaha sled out first , go around and open the front door also to let all the smoke out , It looks like the friggen trailer is on fire by the time he gets it out !............. If I had to ride a 2 stroke sled , I wouldn't even ride snowmachines. Every thing I have is 4 stroke , even my Honda weedeater is a 4 stroke . :4STroke:

When my parents came down from Minocqua, WI to vist me for Thanksgiving my father told me a very interesting story.
He works for a Ford dealer in Minocqua and he said an oriental (Japanese) man came in and wanted an oil change. The man was wearing a polo shirt that said "YAMAHA" on it so he asked the man what he thought about his Yamaha.
The oriental man said to me father, "well, I think theyre the best!" When my father asked him why he thought that way and the man said, "well, I work for Yamaha."
Now, my father likes to give people a hard time about their sleds, especially when they dont ride Polaris. He said to the man, "So, when is Yamaha going to make a sled that will compete with the XCs?" The man sort of laughed and said, "Well, we have something in the works that we think will turn the industry on its ear. We've got a 2-stroke that meets the EPA regulations and we've got a chassis that were working on and once we get it perfected it will put even the Firecats to shame." He told my father that the only problem they were having is that the sleds had a tendency to want to land on the nose and were cracking the bulkheads.
My father's last comment on this topic was: "I didnt say it, but I thought to myself "Why dont you just copy Polaris? Thats what youve been doing all along anyhow."
I didnt argue with my father on that one. I learned long ago that he is too old and set in his ways to be swayed by anyone's word of mouth.
He's very brand biased. If its not a Ford or a Polaris its not worth owning to him.
He told me what a POS my '90 Phazer II was untill he rode it one day. He came away impressed. His only comment was, "I was surprised how zippy that thing was considering its fan-cooled and the suspension didnt bounce me around as much as I thought it would."
He had always told me about how back in the early '90s how he knew people who rode Phazers and how they couldnt keep up with he and my mother (they had Polaris Indy 400s at the time). He told me how bad TSS was, how it rode poorly and was a weak suspension. He told me how poor Yamaha's engine were on power and fuel milageand how it took at least 10 pulls to get them running. He told me how bad Yamaha's clutches were. Well, after seeing my Phazer first hand: how it always started on the 2nd pull, how it would pull 16-18 mpg, how it never once broke and how I was not the least bit sore even after a 200 miles ride he no longer criticized Yamaha.
I hope Yamaha does come out with a ditchbanger and I hope they stick it to everyone who has ever doubted their potential.
Yamaha has a great line of trail sleds right now. However, they need to come out with some weapons for those of us who want a sled that will compete with the REVs, Firecats and IQs. I also think that a lot of people who owned SXs and SX Rs would come back to Yamaha if they made somethat that was competitive in the ditchbanger market.

Corect me if i am wrong but i think Yamaha has released the next model year sled's in February for several year's now. It would be fun to go to the X track and see our brand win once again. I wouldn't hold my breath but they do have the ability and a person i know with Yamaha made the comment last winter that they do like to race but just have to mutch going on write now. I don't know about you guy's but i am glad they put there resources in to sled's i ride rather than a race program. The other three have race program's and big time issues with there consumer sled's. Kind of blow's the race proven theory all to hell. Kevin

I don't buy the 2-smoke idea. I would bet they are loooonnnnnnggggg gooonnnnneeee.
But who knows for sure.
When I was a service tech for my company I had many opportunities to work with Japanese engineers, and I never found them to be too talkative or speculative about anything. I found them to be very quiet and to themselves concentrating on the task at hand.
