Has anyone set up an Apex xtx with single shot rear suspension with Aggressive Snow Trackers on tuners or single keel stock skis? How did it handle compared to an Apex xtx with CK suspension with stock single keel skis and aggressive snow trackers? I’m thinking of shopping for a newer Apex xtx than my 2012 but very unsure of ride quality and snow trackers on tuners or single keelers with Single Shot.
Any feed back regarding single shot and aggressive snow trackers is greatly appreciated.

I have the 16 xtx with the 146"with 1.75 lug on it, I have the updated shock installed so the ride has improved a lot, way more adjustability, I also had the aggressive ST on the factory tuner skis and steered great no tracking but did push in the corners if the conditions were abit sloppy, the factory tuner's did not have a lot of float but are fine for groomed trails, also I found it abit harder for backing up with the ST on, I have since switched to the VK pro skis for my Apex with the deeper single keel and aggressive ST and found this a good combo for groom trail and off trail with a lot more float up front, tracks nice and straight and turns much better now when trails get sloppy in the corners and very light steering effort with the power steering.

Thanks for the reply. Is the updated shock better? In what ways has the update improved SS performance.? The one I demoed in 16 kicked hard on rebound was hard on compression too. I may have an opportunity to buy a 16 xtx but Leary about tuners and SS. I could use stock single keel skis with Aggressive STs but not sure what to do about SS? Have you ridden an Apex xtx with Ck suspensions and STs? I’m wondering if I can get a 16 to do better than the Cks with STs????I have the 16 xtx with the 146"with 1.75 lug on it, I have the updated shock installed so the ride has improved a lot, way more adjustability, I also had the aggressive ST on the factory tuner skis and steered great no tracking but did push in the corners if the conditions were abit sloppy, the factory tuner's did not have a lot of float but are fine for groomed trails, also I found it abit harder for backing up with the ST on, I have since switched to the VK pro skis for my Apex with the deeper single keel and aggressive ST and found this a good combo for groom trail and off trail with a lot more float up front, tracks nice and straight and turns much better now when trails get sloppy in the corners and very light steering effort with the power steering.

Yes, the updated shock is much better ride than the shock that came factory on the 16's, you can adjust for rebound and compression with the clicker knobs now and increase air or decrease air for ride height to fine tune your style of riding, There is a few options to get rid of the fox air shock on the SS one being from Hygear suspension they have a coil over upgrade for the SS but pricy, and I believe Elka suspension sells a coil over for the SS, there is many opinions on what to use for carbides and ski type, some like the tuners, some like the single keel style skis some like using skis off another brands with regular or improved style carbide options, but I just suggested what works very good for my style of riding, so far very happy with the upgraded shock and the deeper keel and wider VK pro ski with ST for my Apex xtx.

I would keep you skis and carbides off your current sled and swap them for the tuners. if you trade in work it into the deal with the dealer.

How do you set transfer to the front skis or track on the SS? This is critical with STs on the CK with single keel skis. There was a transfer rod on my 2007 Attak ec mono but I don’t see any transfer adjusters on SS

Put your sled on a perfectly flat surface, set you tow out to zero on your ski alignment, your A arms should be straight across or slight up angle using the air pressure or coil over spring adjustment from your front shocks to adjust, set your ride height for your weight then use the limiter strap adjustment and some front shock adjustment to make sure your track is sitting perfectly flat on the floor.
