I thought some had added some foam to the seats on the 03-04. How much and what were the results? and where?

I added 1 inch, and it is much better. I would advise going with at least 2 inches. There are other posts with pictures.

I added 3" and loved it. 3" is about the most you can fit under the stock cover. Somebody put 5" in but he had to add material to the cover.
Here are some pictures of my sled.

I added 3" and I can not stress how much better the sled rides!!! I said it before,, it feels like a suspension upgrade, which actually it is. It cost me a whopping $8.50 for the foam. It took about 2 hours. Use an electric kitchen knife to shape it. Keep the lines smooth because small iregularities show through. I made mine about an inch narrower than the seat at the base and cut the sides on an agle to narrow about 3 inches at the top. At first I thought I screwed up and it was too narrow but after riding it for a day its great because you can slide down on the side to lean...

Pics would be nice to compare. I'd like to add foam to the seat over the long, hot, humid misearble summer!!!

I would also like to do this, and maybe a 1" or 2" riser for the bars if needed.

I got mine @ the Foam Factory here in the Detroit Metro Area. I do not know what kind, they showed me some samples and I picked the one I liked the best.
