Looking for a method to carry extra gas. On my RX there were a few times when extra fuel would have been nice. With the turbo vector, I would expect a little heavier fuel consumption, plus I will be letting friends ride it a little and would like to "pig out" a little more (I was told it was a heavy pig by guys that haven't ridden it) I am thinking along the lines of a couple of brackets to bolt on the rear of the running boards that can be unfastened at the top of the trail but maybe somebody has a good system already? :4STroke: (boosted)

Won't work, Hartman tunnel extension, not enough clearance.

What we've done is build two aluminum brackets that fit snugly around a two gallon can, with a small peg that fits into one of the holes in the running board over the rear suspension bracket, strap it to the running board and then across the seat to each other. We found this works better than having it on the rear,it can't damage your tunnel and the weight is over the rear suspension where it should be.With this set up you can go as fast as you want over rough terrain and not worry about it.

Now that is EXACTLY what I have been thinking about. I have 2 of the 2 gal cans already and have had them sitting on the running booards, right in front of the hose covers, trying to figure the best way to mount them. I would like to be able to take them off once we get into the area we are riding. I have a tig welder etc, and would like to see some pics of what you have done. Could you post the pics or PM them? i would appreciate it.
thanks

Yeh,I phoned him last night to see if he still had pics of those,I used his idea and expanded on them, they work awsome, best part is they keep weight over the suspension.

If anyone is interested in pictures of my gas can racks I can email them to you, just let me know.
