Anyone else have any issues with the bearings on most wheels in the rear skid of the 07 Phazer FX? After 3000 kms it looks like all my bearings need to be replaced.

I know on the 06 Apex GTs, that they were replacing a lot of them under warranty last year.

With the update kit it comes with some of the wheels.Big ones at top and small ones alongside shock.Trick to making all these wheels last is to get grease in them right away.Do not buy PartsUnlimited bearings for replacements they are sloppier than wore out stockers new.Get OEM.

Better yet, cross reference the bearings with something that's offered through a distibutor (such as Caman Bearing or McMaster Carr)..

Cheaper and most of the time equal or better quality than OEM

cannondale27, when the link broke on my sled in the 07 season, they just replaced the link. I did not get new wheels. At least not to my knowledge. The dealer didn't tell me they replaced any.

I guess I will call them. Thanks again.

Same here.....I had the '08 style kit replaced at no charge 1 month out of warranty, but nothing was mentioned about wheels being part of this kit. Can someone verify exactly what the breakdown of this "mod kit" is? :exc:

I think if you got the new link you also got the 2 wheels next to the shock. It is a different set up than before.

I can tell you that the stock wheels aren't the best on
the phazers I had a 95 XCR with wheels that would
spin for like 45 seconds on their own, vs like 5-10 seconds
in the yammy ones, I never replaced them, but seems like
they should have been better than that.

Hey Phazed-Coug........ If you live in Greenville NC, where the heck do you ride? You have a bunch of nice pics on your link!

I think he moved from UT.

if they a properly greases they SHOULD only spin 5-10 seconds at most. Grease offers a decent amount of resistance. That's how I check idlers, if they freewheel for a LONG time they are DRY and need some lube!

I had my link replaced just last year, no new wheels with it either.

I just bought some new OEM ones from Port Yamaha to replace 'em since '07- they were like $18 a piece.
