Tom whats all this 800 talk about - don't you mean your putting on a 686 kit? I rode the one we did by us again today now that it has some miles on it and man that thing really pulls through the midrange - your gonna love it!

LOL...I thought I posted 700...LOL sorry about that....
so whats the dealio with the raptor cam mod?is it just a bolt in replacement with no machine work involved?i would like to think about a 686 kit but i think for my az climate i would need to address the cooling system mods first.
of course this brings me to a question-are you guys just racing each other always or are the mud holes just that gnarly

Mud holes and you can change the cam but you will need the valve springs too...I would remove all your engine coolant and drop in engine ice.

Would you suggest upgrading the axles as well?MrSled said:Mud holes and you can change the cam but you will need the valve springs too...I would remove all your engine coolant and drop in engine ice.

I'll buy the desire for more power on the trail sections but to me the extra power in a mud hole is just begging to snap an axle.
Prove me wrong and join us in Hurley over Memorial Day weekend.

The guy who was next to him two years ago when he snapped an axle in Joanie's Dirty Hole then laughed at him last year when his Grizz was driving around in circles in the water due to a broken rear axle?
Yeah, I guess I am.
Of course now I need to get serious about snorkles for my own machines.

my mods are done for the year,686 with the mudbuster cam,
the grizz now has tons of low end and mid range power.
Tom, are you sure you want the raptor cam? You will lose some low end power but gain top end power. I'm thinking since you want it for mud,you should go with the mudbuster cam.
