Now that you Apex riders have had some time to figure these new Drag N Flys out, how about some of those setups. My buddy is having a tough time finding the formula.

Anybody else have any updates on Drag n Fly setups? We are trying to lower engagement and I know to add shoulder weight, but we have 7 g on the shoulder now.

What spring are you running in the primary?
What engagement do you currently have with your set up, and what engagement are you shooting for?
What bolt/washer combination are you running that allows 7 grams in the shoulder? I didn't think that it was possible to add that much weight to the shoulder with the hardware that you get with the kit.

I am using the white spring. I have more washers and weighed them. I started at 3.2 with engagement @ 5000. I kept adding until I could not add any more now at 7 grams and engagement is 4500. I would like to be 3800-4000. I have 5.2 in the center,3.2 in the tip,and 3.2 in the overdrive for 10,800 top end. Without the 3.2 in the tip it runs at 11000. ANY HELP?

The weight that your buddy has in the shoulder (7g.) is more than the weight (4.7g) that I've got in the shoulder on my set up, but your buddy's set up is resulting in a higher engagement speed (4500) than what I've got on my sled (4000). I am also using the same spring (white). More weight in the shoulder of these weights should result in a lower engagement speed. I've got 4 flat washers and one lock washer in the shoulder using the bolt that came with the kit. Is there any possiblity that your buddy has any engagement shims in the clutch under the spring? Is he using the stock rollers? The black spring that you get with the kit I believe has a lower engagement rate, so that would be the next thing to try to lower the engagement.

Vx1R, I checked for shims none. I have the stock rollers in. I guess I will have to try the black spring and hope this does not change the shift out.

The black spring has a lot less preload and a little more total force. I like it a lot more than the white. You will need to add a little tip weight.
