A trackclip went through the front cooler, I knew it was running hot, and had all of the hood plastics off, and stopped every half mile or so to cool it off and pack the engine bay with snow. It was running until I shut it off when I reached cell service and did not try to restart it until I got it drug home.If there is no coolant in system the temp sensor does not inform the ecu that it's overheating. My guess is motor lost coolant. We have been working on a product to address this but have run into a few set backs. Do a search for "engine saver"
Is the flywheel in oil, and from what I can see in the rods etc there is no bluing. I am thinking to just try a new head gasket and see how long the engine will hold up. I dumped all the oil I collected from the motor into a pail and it amounted to about 3.5 qts, the rest drained out when the flywheel bolt cover popped out. I put the head back on with copper sealant to see if it held compression, and it ranged from 125 to 130 on all 4.
