Ok so we just got the new motor installed. We finished the sled and it fired up and the oil pump was bad, so we took it back out and put in a new oil pump. We put some easy miles on it and it was running great. After about 50 miles, brought it back in and checked everything and everything was great.
Later that night we took the sled out and it was running great, other than the battery was dead and had to jump it with the trusty Nytro. We got to a local watering hole, and got some food. After about an hour I went back out; hoping the start would start and it did, but then the yellow light and the engine idiot light started to blink. I let it idle and still they stayed on, after a few minutes it stopped blinking and it ran fine. I took it easy but gave it some juice a few times and it ran great. Stopped at the next place and it sat for about half hour, when outside and it fired right up, but the light and engine light was blinking again; but this time after letting it warm up for about 2-3 minutes, I give it gas and it spits and sputters then shuts off. The battery then died after trying to turn it over, I had to tow it home with the trusty Nytro XTX.
After getting it home, putting it on charge and letting it trickle for 8 hours. The next morning, I went out and turned it over and the key switch was sticking and would not disengage, but no spark or anything.
I ordered a new key assembly, but I does anyone have ideas what it might me??? Any ideas???
Thanks

t.p.s., tors, or just low voltage out of the battery.

Did you get any codes when your check engine light came on? Are there any codes stored in your ecu?

No codes flashed, but my new switch comes in tomorrow. I will check then, I prob should have waited to post but just wanted to get my post up and see if anyone one has had similar problems.
Thanks

The only time I've had battery problems it was the voltage regulator. I damaged the connectors when I hit a tree. I wouldn't think you would go 50 miles with charging the battery though
It may have been something hooped in your switch draining the battery.

Guys got the new key and was able to get the error codes, we got 12 and 46. Code 12 is the crankshaft position sensor and 46 Vehicle system power supply (monitor voltage).
My question is has anyone had these errors and what do I need to do to fix the problems?
Thanks,
Jason

Looks like you have a problem with the crank sensor - check the wire coming out of the stator side of the motor - make sure the small 2 wire plug on that harness is plugged in and no breaks in the wire - it is possible to have a bad sensor. check the battery voltage as well - I have come across 3 bad odyess batteries this year that were almost new - all 3 were date stamped 0710(july of 10)

What volt reading do you get running vs not? I think I got a bad crank sensor code when my battery voltage was too low as well. I'd suspect the charging system somewhere.

I am still having trouble with my key/starter not disengaging. I turn the key to the on position and it just starts turning over and will keep doing so until I turn the key to off, not sure what it could be? Any ideas?
Thanks
