My 2008 Apex 40th anniversary has been great but with almost 19K miles I'm looking to make a change. I'm probably going to buy a 2014 Vector with only 400 miles! The guys wife is in her 60's and only rode it 3 times in Old Forge. The trails there are butter smooth so I'm sure the sled is just like new. Only mods are a studded track and mirrors. He was asking $5,900 but we've agreed to $5,500. I was considering a 2016 Vector but sounds like most weren't thrilled with the single shot.
I don't care about the top end across a lake, just want a nice, reliable trail sled with power steering as my shoulder bothers me on all day rides with the Apex.

13 Apex XTX 45 anniversary RED/WHITE/BLACK 3K miles
10 Vector LTX Blue 9kmiles
11 Venture GT 4k miles

If you don’t need the speed and throttle response you will love the Vector. I have both the Vectors are great trail sleds plenty of power fairly fast but the Apex motor is one of a kind. Since i no longer race across the lake often i am happy with the 3 cylinder

You can't go wrong with the Vector, good fuel mileage and very very reliable, the 16 Vector has the updated engine, power steering and three different engine modes, the single shot rear suspension is very good with the updated shock installed, if I was choosing it would be the 16 Vector xtx hands down, but that's just me, both machines are bullet proof and will out run a Viper.

That's good to know 20/80 as both my riding buddies have 2014 Vipers

the only thing you will miss from the apex is the exh note and the top end on a long lake run. sounds like an awsome deal.

No real discernable difference between the two up to 75 mph. After that, the 4 cyl has the HP & RPM to keep pulling hard, whereas the Vector will keep pulling till 95-100 mph, just not with much authority after 75 mph. The 3 cyl is a torque monster, not a high rpm screamer.
Handling, feel, and ride quality will be pretty much the same, presumably both were/are 121 or 136.
