Hi guys,

I need electrical guru help. I bought a set of Cat SnoPro bars for my RX1. They come with grip warmers already on. Can I get away with just plugging them into the Yamaha harness? If I need to run a separate circuit, what is needed besides a power source and 3 way switch? Also if I run a separate circuit, will the display read an error code saying the warmers are unplugged? Thanks for the help guys!

I was just messing with the same problem on my RX1. Bought a set of cat m series bars with grips, complete.

The factory yamaha grips are around 4.5 ohms total(not 100% sure my DVOM was cranky tonight)

The cat grips measure 27 ohms and 42 ohms on each ckt to ground.
Since the CDI must recognize the high resistance I get an error code and of course the grips won't work in any combination.

Leaves me two choices,

1-Cut off the Cat grips and put the factory grips back on. Problem is they don't fit the bars well.

2-Wire the grips through a 2 way switch and use a resistor to trick the CDI into thinking all is well.

Does anyone have access to a Cat wiring schematic? I would like to see how they wire up the grips. Don't want to let the smoke out or anything.

I wired the cat grips up to a three position switch and ran them that way.

They worked, but not well. My hands were cold and had to switch off to another sled once or twice to warm em back up. Then again it was -45F at the time so...

Something I have to revist before the next ride for sure, anyone have access to cat schematics, or know an onlie source?

Tony
