First off, if anyone thinks that the 2011 and 2012 is like the older apex or rx1...there are kidding themselves. There have been so many changes from the groud up, that it really is not the same sled. They are superior in every way. Also, be careful what you wish for. over the past 10 + years, Polaris has been trying to give people that NEW sled, only to have failure after failure. Example...people wanted lighter and torqe on the bottom, now the clutches puke from vibration, and the engines do not last.....sound familier(just like articat). People said we need a-arm front ends, and the sleds have handled like crap ever since. I could go on and on, but the point is, I think Polaris used to have a superior sled in every way, then they kept trying new stuff, and now they suck. I ran polaris for 25 years, and now, here I am on a yami. Engines last forever, clutches don't shake apart. Well anyway, I dont really think that yami is really better than other brands in the chassis area, for the most part, but the engine and clutches are better, and that is all that I would puke on the POo-Poo's. The old Poos of the 80s and 90s never sucked like this.....until everyone cried for CHANGE! Don't get me wrong, I know that you always gotta change and improve, just a drastic new product all at once can be disasterious. Just ask cat owners.

The "new" 120 isn't new at all. If you watch the video Yamaha has built the 4 stroke motor in it for another company 3 years ago. The chassis looks like the cat and the motor is a yamaha.... its $50 more through cat though... They are the same sled with a different color hood, name on the seat and decals....

Well Yami can't come up with stuff that will please everyone. That's why there are other brands and the same goes for them.
Yami has what I want for now.

Your not the only one who has noticed.Like you said just as people complain about yamahas issues(sliders, bushings, etc)there are just as many on the other forums having big time issues with the brand X sleds. The biggest complaint on dootalk is wanting a motor that last past 3000miles(your really can,t blame them when you shell out the money for these things).Arctic cat is having a "FUSION" moment with there latest chassis, and poo seems to got the chassis right(and there 600 two-stroke seems pretty reliable for a smoker)but there like the rest of the smokers, there pigs on fuel.Today it cost me $20bucks canadian for 3 gallons of fuel.I was shock. No wonder the past few winters you don,t see many two-stroke riders on the go,they can,t justify it.pat the rat said:what about the guys from other brands complaining about unreliable sleds, burnt motors and endless issues, its all a big wheel that turns,we lose some,we gain some,i've talked to alot of guys on the trails this season being a trail patrol officer, and a few were disapointed about there new 2012 sleds, then they ask me how i like the vector,i'm sure i pursuaded a few with the yamaha reliability,i love yammi's and would buy the same sled in a heart beat

Yup,only gas pump in town and its "tweak" to rob us a little bit(hench why its not a digital display pump). If this keeps up it may kill the two-strokes hold on the sled market(it has already in my town, most new sleds the past few winters have been thumpers(and mostly yamaha). And we don,t ride groomed trail.pat the rat said:wow, that's like $1.45 a lt, ouch, i paid $2.40 a liter cpl weeks ago in a isolated location,26 litres cost me $62,but the ride was worth itlow slung said:Your not the only one who has noticed.Like you said just as people complain about yamahas issues(sliders, bushings, etc)there are just as many on the other forums having big time issues with the brand X sleds.

We all know the Apex, Vector and Nytro, for that matter are Rock Solid.(could have put those new ski's on across the board, they are cheeper and seem to be working. The dealers can sell 4 rods all day long)
Lets hope they build them for many years and hold the line on costs. but what is up with the phaser, Do dealers sell many of them, I don't get that piece. Never rode one , dont plan to. How many more years are we going to beat that horse.

maybe its time you do try one, mine has 24000km,it is one fun sled, you wouldnt beleive how it takes corners when set up right, good on fuel, its my wifes sled but everytime i ride it,i cant beleive how light it feels, and the sound when driving it just makes you want to flip the throttle all the time, before bashing it,ride oneTRUE BLUE SINCE 1980 said:TRUE BLUE SINCE 1980 said:What are the Dealers going to sell? Sled Dog said:Groomer08 said:um, if he hasnt upgraded from a 10yr old rx-1 i dont think anything will. thing was a forerunner back in its day but now its a tank. dime a dozen.
Really a tank then how come it keeps up to Apex's. If your smart remark is aimed at me show me where I was crying about change?
I like my tank and I don't think he was talking about you Sled Dog. There is a bit of tounge in cheek humor when you think about a guy riding a RX and saying why nothing new from Yamaha. New Apex is a world away from the old RX. But the RX is still a great sled to ride. Not selling mine for a dime and everywhere I still see them listed for as high as 5,500 bucks.

It's not that i don't like my yammie it has been a good sled.
I just think the price is outrageous my vector was 7400 spring order with 400 in extra free stuff.
Now the equivelant sled is 12000 ????
And they have nothing cheaper or smaller or lighter except the phazer which feels like a bar stool when you sit on it and has no wind protection at all.
Couldn't they have at least taken the phazer and put on the plastics and bigger tank and seat from the Venture light? Then valve and spring it for comfortable trail riding.
I even thought of getting a molding company to make panels and create a kit to do just that
Then you'd have a light warmer cheaper sled for those of us who want a 4s but don't need to go 100 mph and don't want to spend 12k
I don't think they need to turbo the apex to chase cat how many 16 k sleds are they going to sell? The aftermarket can take care of those guys
