NOS PRO it almost sounds like your going in reverse AS FAR AS TIMES GO werent you down to 11.10ish.... Im sure that the head wind and heat were the big down fall thought..
Thats why when i drag race my camaro once a year i wait untill sept, oct. when the air is cool to race and Make lots of horse power..THAT AND NO AIRCONDITIONING AND THAT no fun!! HA HA

Hey J - Same as last time, green spring, 47 straight helix, and at 80%.
Welterracer - The same guy I ran with at Great Lakes Dragway, and the guy with the ZR900, all ran .35 slower than other races. Wind plays a factor big time.

Thanks hi...I spend 4-6 hours EVERY Friday afternoon(hope my boss don,t see this) Saturday & Sunday allmost every weekend doing nothing but testing set-ups. I have played with oem stuff, heelclickers, daltons, Heavy hitters in combination with every helix out there. If I can,t get ya bang on I should be able to get ya very close.

I called Appleton Powersports today about the Rev Limiter/ oil light problem. Talked to Todd, and he said that when I hit the rev limiter, the oil must have cavitated somehow. That light will stay on till the computer is shut off, and that is when it will reset. WHEW!!! Thought I would have major damage.

I think you need to run it in better conditions to see if it's right before you make any other changes.
If the clutch temps continue to be that high you ned to make some changes

Pro.....just humour me here for a second. I think if you go back to a dual angle helix, silver secondary wrapped at 80 degrees with about 24/40 gearing or something close you may be surprised by what happens. A straight angle helix will work but needs a lot of spring pressure at higher speeds to keep enuff pressure on the belt to stop it from slipping. A dual angle helix with a lower finish angle will give you a lot better belt squeeze at higher speeds with less spring pressure....that means better efficiency...better performance. I am just taking a shot here!

Turk look at these results
Turk look at these results. These where with the same setup just more weight in the Heavy Hitters. You'll see he was only under reving. He might need a multi angle helix but he should run this setup on a good track with cool air temps first to see his RPM range before changing Helix and secondary spring. Just a side note he ran his best times with the 47 degree helix and the green secondary spring.
GREAT NEWS!!! Great Lakes Dragway, 7/2/03, temp was HOT! A steady 89 with 50-60% humidity with lots of sun. This time I changed to a green spring, and a straight 47 helix. Results are amazing, especially the 60 ft.: (To give you a hint, my friend came down with his Skidoo that runs 10.80's in good weather, his best was 11.05 Weather does play a factor.)
1st run - 1.493 60ft. 6.847 1/8 11.062 @ 113.66mph. (set 80%)
2nd run - 1.483 60 ft. 6.846 1/8 11.097 @ 112.55mph. (set 90%)
3rd run - 1.528 60 ft. 6.918 1/8 11.124 @ 112.24mph. (set 70%)
4th run - 1.490 60 ft. 6.828 1/8 11.072 @ 112.52mph. (set 80%)
5th run - 1.514 60 ft. 6.946 1/8 11.106 @ 112.69mph. (set 80%)
Clutch temps are down to 110 on secondary, and 128 on primary. The only problem was my rpms went down to 9,400-9,500. Will take the previous weights out, and replace with 3/8 bolts, tip and middle to get that 10,400 back. Was too dark last night, but will change for Saturday at W.I.R.

Hey Guys - If the winds would have been down, I would have run a 10.95 easy. I just can't get a break from the head wind at W.I.R.. I will go and play at Great Lakes Dragway again someday soon (better traction). I would have to say, it is pretty close on weight setup. Rpms are there, just need good conditions. Talk to you all later.

Hey angleboy - There is a ZR900 currently running at our track, and he pits right accross from me. He has Black Magic clutching, is rejetted, and geared, but motor is stock. He runs 10.67 on a good day. He ran a best of 10.99 this last saturday. He also has 60-70 lbs. on light side from me.
