Asphalt Results 2004

stock skid works fine with some minor changes, track adjusts, extra wheels, remove hyfax, etc, we have everything you need for asphalt testing and tuning in stock. 414-698-6611 jeff

Hi everyone - Thanks a bunch, let's see if we can keep the winning streak going.

hlmrx1 - I have done everything, using stock components so far, and am doing pretty well with them. Best time without nitrous was 10.998 @ 112mph. I am using the quick diconnects from Wahl Brothers Racing, and a water temp gage from a local auto store.
Current setup (Stock Yami skid with extra wheels, K&N filter setup, Stock SRX shocks, and stock clutches with heavy Hitters. Just switched to cut clutches for more top end, and will be putting in a Wahl suspension with a 10 5/8 track.)

Well guys just thought I’d get you up to date from last night. Had some more electrical gremlins show up last night… #$%&* got that fixed. I was trying to dial in the suspension and with what I would call, at best a ‘moderate track’ (verry little glue down…). I won’t go into much detail, but we will just call it ‘moderate’. Woked on a little cluching, but focused mostly on the rear skid before the racing started with time trials...

Best pass of the night was a 9.810et @ 115.32 mph. It was the first ‘race’ of the night and I broke out… I hit the breaks hard thinking that I was too far a head of the bike I was running… well guess what, I was way far a head… After that I went into the ‘test-n-tune lane’ the rest of the passes (2) were low 9.9’s and the MPH was between 131 and 132. ;)!

The track went away fast after the first round. There were two breakdowns in the staging lanes so they were crap… my 60ft-et’s reflected the issues at the starting line…
I wanted another good run to see what the sled would have ran if I’d ran another run like the 9.8 run out. Ohhh well…

This wahl suspension seems very sensitive to track condition and also any adjustment. I think that is a ‘good-think’.

Thanks,

with running a 9.81 at 115 mph, when your normal trap speed is 133, shows that you scrubbed off a ton of speed at the end by hitting the brakes, (18 mph worth) if you would have finished that run wide open, without slamming on the brakes, you would have easily run in the 9.60's. great job buster, thats around a 1/2 second loss in et in two or three tuning sessions. jeff

Great job Mike. Now if you had a lighter rider I bet you could go 9.1's :moon: I'm sure we'll be in touch ;)!

Awsome Buster!!!!!!!!!

Guys, Off the line the gauge would go to 9lbs (seen it twice), and then would settle down to 8lbs on the big end...

I'm working on it to get 10lbs, so I will post when that is happening... I think I might have an issue with the ‘Power-Up-Kit’ (call Jeff for details) tube having 'kink' in it witch will not allow the boost to get up to 10lbs. I'll be working on this... But, as of right now the gauge is reading 8lbs.
