Mike, what's the closest air port to Hill's race?

Hi everyone - No races this weekend, 5/22/04, flooding everywhere! Non-stop rain & thunderboomers. Even had a tornado touch down 15 miles away, but did very little damage. But on the bright side, I got my Pro Street truck running. :D

Well guys, the old girl made it's maiden run at Viking Dragways in Gimli Manitoba this weekend for test & tune and Season Opener, although I only ran Satrurday for test & tune as I broke a ski wheel (rough track) on my 6th run and didn't have a spare. Sunday was my kids birthday anyways and I couldn't have went and today the weather wasn't great, so I don't know if they ran. My main goal was to try it out and see, man what a hoot!
Anyway, here's my times
Reaction I1(60') I3(1/8m) MPH (I3) E.T. MPH
#1 0.635 1.842 8.197 88.843 12.694 111.477
#2 0.666 1.731 7.921 88.614 12.431 106.272
#3 0.614 1.873 8.136 88.208 12.653 106.295
#4 0.497 1.565 7.415 90.395 11.880 107.099
#5 0.450 1.715 7.261 92.590 11.637 108.707
#6 0.253 1.673 7.146 94.017 11.490 109.569
First 4 passes were with the stock clutch, silver spring in the secondary set to 70, with machined stock helix for use with the speed sheeve on my other clutch. On the first pass the sled took off to the right and I had to let off the throttle to straighten out then nailed it again and got the best mph on that run. The next two also took off to the right, but this time I was expecting it and feathered the throttle to keep it straight. On the fourth run I stage the sled to the left a little (maybe too much) and it took off to the left a little, again let off a bit to straighten out and nailed it again. Switched clutch for the 5th and 6th run, went to HC with speed sheeve, staged the sled slightly less to the left and the sled went straight these times, so I could keep the hammer down and those ended up being my best times. Came close to redlighting on the last run though. The best run not counting the reaction time was #5 for the sled. Don't think there's anything happening for the next two weekends, but hope to get back out there as soon as I can, wouldn't mind trying out the stock clutch again now that I think I've figured out how to stage the sled.
Nospro, you had that problem too I believe, did you ever figure out what was causing it? Guess I should go back and read the thread hey!

Hey hlmrx1 - I had a problem with the lights last year, always redlighting me. I found out that the USI skis, had a gap behind the loops, and with the vibration, would trigger the light accidentally. I put a pc. of aluminum on 1 ski, to fill the gap. No problems now.

Hey everybody - 5/29/04, Rained out again! We have soo much water here, we might have to do watercrossing! We drove to the track, thinking there was hope, but was told at 1:30 to go back home. While we were there, we saw some of the damage left over from the last storms. The chain link fence by the staging lanes, had sticks and grass pasted to it about 4 feet high!!!! This means the whole pit, and track was under water!!!! There are parts of the staging lanes that had to have blacktop replaced, and part of the pits filled in. WOW! The force of water.

I don't race at WIR for 2 weeks now, so will be going to Great Lakes Dragway sometime in the next week or so. But for now, am enjoying my truck.

Guys,
Just got back from a test-n-tune at my local track...

Made some more solid gains and ended up running in the mid 9.7's.
If the sled performs like this it's going to be a heck of a bracket sled. ;)!
Track conditions were ok... so I feel that numbers could be a little lower when we have some heat in the track, track temps were low 60's with no bigger cars to lay down the rubber.

9.758, 9.765, and 9.768 were the numbers when I wanted to see three runs with out any more changes.

So, if any of you guys are going to be around this Sunday there is a Bike/Sled shoot out at New York International Raceway www.nyirp.com
Hope to see some TY-ers there, to cheer me on to the winners circle with the CPR-Turbo'd Warrior...

:4STroke: Especially CPR-Turbo'd ones...

Thanks,
