Attak or Apex

If I had to do it over again I think I would go with the Attak. Don't get me wrong, I love my Apex, but there are times I wish I had the longer track, especially since it hooks up better and sacrifices nothing on the big end. In a couple years I'll have to upgrade to a boosted Attak!!

Last year I had a 06 RTX. ( 121 ) I stretched it out to a 136" with a Expert X. After the first couple rides I did not even notice it was a 136 in the twisties. I promise you skill level for skill level, no 121" sled will get away from me in the twisty trails. I could throw that sled around even with 168 picks.
This year I'm going to a 144" ( with my Expert, I just hate the Mono skid ) on my new 07 Attak.

Get the Attak, you will not be disappointed. ;)!

I currently own 3 sled's that are 136". 01 Venture, 02 Viper and an 06 Attak.I ride Wisconsin, U.P., and Canada. Have had many people claim they are faster on a 121" than I could ever be with a 136". Haven't had ANY problem running with anyone with a shorter sled. It is all about setup and rider skill. First year with the Viper was 05. Rode right with the guy's on their new 05 RX1's. Couldn't outrun them on the straights, but I was shaggin' them in EVERY corner. Now with the Attak... let's just say the straights are no longer a problem LOL. Get an Attak, some more aggressive ski's, and setup suspension correctly. Much smoother ride, VERY stable under braking and acceleration. And something no one else has mentioned. I think the Attak LOOKS more balanced than the Apex. Personal opinion, but the rear of the Apex looks a little odd to me. Seems like there is more rear end than other 121's. Again, just my OPINION.

Dave ;)!

This has been argued to death. the 121 guys will tell ya the shorter tracks are better in the tight and twisties, the 136 guys will disagree this point to the end of time. Bottom line, if they performed EXACTLY the same, why would Yamaha have 2 different models for a single application?

Blue By You2000, They don't perform the same! I was a holdout 121" guy forever. I will never have another 121" again. The 136" rides better, accelerates harder and is way more stable. It does look better too! The short track reminds me of the old 80's ski-doo citation in the rear. I too am wondering why they are even making the 121". The shortest cats have even gone to a 128". I fought going long track till the bitter end. Now, I wished I would have discovered the advantages of the longer 136" sooner. Remember when the 136" used to be the longest mountain sled?

lol, Yes, Yes, and Yes! I agree, took me quite awhile to get on the 136" (and four stroke for that matter) bandwagons, but the switch has so far been a good one!
