hi there.new to the site.on my 06 gt,been haveing a problem getting it to run.found
it to be badly flooded, was popping and back firing.drianed all gas from tank and installed fresh gas.drianed contaminated eng oil.removed fuel pump relay and cleared all clyinders and installed new plugs.finally got it to started.i was holding it a bit off idle in hopes to clear the clys but sounds like one cly is not firing, when i rev a little it pops, when I try to let it idle,it will pop.removed coils/plugs,found spark plug on far rt (#4 ?) to be wet and others seem to be firing, tried swaping coils, but seemed to make no change,i have not yet tried to check for spark on that cly,can i check it like a 2stroke?.im wondering if i should be checking comp in that cly.oh when i had it running,i was keeping an eye for temp light so i didnt over heat it,but a yellow light came on,so i turn it off,did not see any codes on the dash.this is my first yamaha 4/stroke.any ideas would be
greatly appreciated,thanks

Have you tested for exhaust donut failure?

Indicator for exhaust donuts going is it will pop or backfire on decelleration (backing off throttle), not to mention you can hear the exhaust leak under the tunnel if it is bad enough. I check my donuts before every season just to mkae sure they are all good and clamps are tight...whether I think it needs it or not.
Are there any codes on the dash cluster? I think codes 34-37 are coil related. I had it happen to me last winter (first run out) that sled would barely run and was flashing code 34. Ended up being that when I plugged the 2 pin harness back into the coil (after a plug change) one of the pins bent and was not making contact.

Checking for spark and compression is a good place to start. Even though it would probably not cause a fouled plug, I would still check the exhaust donuts since it is a known problem on the Apex (I have replaced my donuts twice and my Y pipes once in 7200 miles).
Welcome to TY! You will find this site very helpful. I have learned a lot from the great guys here. Please add your location to your profile. Let us know what you find out on the misfire issue.

change out the bad plug, once fouled it wont fire.

Mine did this last year and found it to be TPS. It was dumping too much fuel and trying to flood out. As I gave it gas it would pop and backfire. If I took it past engagement for a run it would run fine until I came back down to idle speed. It would not start unless you held throtle 1/4 open. Changed throtle position sensor and runs great. My fuel usage was also at about 8mpg.

thanks for the input guys.have got the sled running with 4 new plugs, but is not running on
all clyinders,i have to keep it off idle to run,if i let go of the throttle, she will stall, found number 4 plug soaked in fuel, switch coil and plug to other cly to find no change, still finding #4 plug to be fuel soaked.iam finding spark on that plug though, while it was running,i had unplugged
that injector to find no change in running, not sure if im losing spark when running.finding #3 cly dry and 1&2 burning.im wondering if i have an injector that is stuck open for #4 and 1 that is stuck closed for #3.
i dont see any codes coming up on the dash, does it have be at an idle for that.?
I fig it should still run and idle with worn ex-dounuts.eng oil is getting staturated with fuel again..ive put fuel injector cleaner in it,but it may not have gone through
enough yet..are the injectors know for causing prolems like this?
