Backfires

Hi I run an apex 07 I instaled a bender pipe the rest is stock It sometimes backfires when I let off the throtle . Any tips?

How many miles on the sled? Sounds like the exhaust gaskets (donuts), there are 4 of them and go right behind the flex joints near the head.

I have about 6000 miles on it .

Yep its the exhaust donuts.

Need to remove the seat, bars, gas tank, to get down to them but its not horrible.

www.portyamaha.com has online parts ordering for the gaskets, they are around $5 a piece
