Travis,did you ever make this kit in black yet? If so, will it work on a 2019 Cat 8000

I've come up with another solution that utilizes the stock snow flap and allows for a much shorter snow flap plate. The stock snow flap needs to be trimmed along the crease as shown in the one photo below. After trimmed 4 new holes need to be drilled, and the plate works as a drill template.

On my winder the stock snow flap measures 10.5" of vertical clearance from grade. With my adjustable plate, the flap can be adjusted from 7" of clearance down to 3".

The plate attaches to stock snow flap plate. 4 additional holes get drilled into the stock plate so a total of 8 rivets secure. Final finish would be a black powdercoat.

Okay I like the idea BUT I tried this last year 2500 miles and it made virtually zero difference. The extension was riveted on and would scratch the ground at times. If not it was within 1/2 “ all the time. I have always had issues with mine on hard packed early morning when it’s cold out. This is with over 200 studs also. Some reason these winders are sensitive to hard packed trails. I gave up on the longer flap and just deal with it. Usually by dipping into loose snow on side of trail at times.

Were you running ice scratchers as well??

Ya scratchers make a world of difference,without them I can run into fresh snow all the time and still not stay where my sled like to be.
