So i left the key in the on position and didn't know it. I went out to start the sled and of course it was dead. I used a power pack to start it and no problem. So i throw the battery tender jr on it and let it charge. It has been a week now and the light is still not green. 4 days ago i got 12.08 volt reading, continue to let it charge, and today get a 12.44 volt reading. How long should it take to fully charge, and at what voltage should i see if it's fully charged?

Did you take it out of the sled when you put it on the tender? The tender will take a long time due to the trickle voltage. You may want to charge it faster and then let it rest.

I did not take it out of the sled. It's charging through the accessory cables on the side of the sled. If I start it and let it run for a while, will this charge the battery quicker?

No it will not charge the battery quicker. Usually for me, I have to pull the battery out to get a good charge, the system doesn't seem to allow it charge all that well thru the other electronics.

OK good information. At this point I'm not gonna take the battery out of the sled. I'll just let it keep charging through the accessory cables, and check the voltage every day or so. If it's going up I will just let it keep charging this way. When I take it out of the shed in October, I will see where we are at.

My guess is if its taking a charge and its still climbing, you will be good for the season.

Question, have you tried disconnecting the Battery Tender Jr leads from the battery post or jumper cable leads on the side? The reason I ask is that I had a JetSki battery that I thought was toast but decided to try and let the Battery Tender Jr. revive. It was probably on that battery for over a month but the light on the Battery Tender Jr. still showed red. It wasn't until I flipped the switch on the power strip that the Battery Tender Jr. was connected to that I noticed the light changed from red to green after turning the power back on. Ended up getting a couple more years out of that batter and it was the same Yuasa gel battery type as my RX-1 and Apex. Worth a try as I think sometimes if the Battery Tender Jr has to trickle charge a battery for an extended period of time, sometimes it needs to be reset in order for the light to change to colors. Otherwise, continue on with charging as it sounds like it is taking and holding the charged but wanted to pass along a similar experience I had with my Battery Tender Jr.

When i start the sled, im getting 13.5 running volts. My brother in law who i think is incredibly smart about mechanical stuff, thinks tha
