Has anyone had issues with their battery not charging? Was on a trip couple of weeks ago, battery wouldn't start sled, was really cold -24*C, figured that was the issue. Still under warranty , so I took it to dealer, battery tested OK but so did charging system. Bought new battery, back up north today and guess what...... Ya. I was impressed. Only 90 miles out of my shiny new good for not much battery. Called dealer, they're gonna get it in first thing Monday as I'm heading to Cochrane on Wednesday night. Any suggestions or has anyone seen this before?. On my way back to cottage (after I got it boosted) I shut off all accessories and was only outputting 11.1 V max. Dealer thought maybe the voltage regulator? Thanks guys

I would assume they checked all that at the dealer when it was there last. Hope they can figure it out and quick...

I did have a bad battery when I first got my 2015. It had a bad cell and went from crisp starts to cranking only and no start. Dealer replaced under warranty. Second battery has been good for over a year now. I have a battery charger that diagnoses the battery and it indicated a bad cell. Dealer tester confirmed. It was strange that it would crank the sled over and over, but would not start? Voltage was lower than expected at just under 12 as I recall after sitting on a charger for 24 h0urs.

They found the problem.... Broken starter gear dropped some teeth into bottom end, got pinched in stator and buggered it up pretty good. Not sure what happened first as I only heads starter kick back once when battery was low already. Yamaha is looking after all of it. They have to pull my pan to find the rest of the pieces. Won't be done in time for my trip this weekend so the dealer liscenced a new SE as a demo for me to ride. Sweet.
