Does anyone have suggestions on what brand battery to run in an apex? Any that standout from the rest?

Yuasa is always good. I will also watch to see if there are other recommendations.

I’ve always had the best luck with Yuasa. I just replaced mine on the Apex from a YTX14-BS to a YTX20H-BS

Thank you for replying guys,I've been looking for a good battery because it seems if the battery is even slightly week it wont start. Dont know if that's just how the Apex's are or if it's because of the modifications. @RAMSOMAIR is the 20 higher power or more cca than the 14? What's the size difference physically, I'm very limited on space for the battery

The 14 is 200 CCA the 20 is 310CCA. The 20 will fit in the same spot at the 14 under the plastic cover that has the bungee on it. Just have to remove the gray foam spacer from inside.

It's possible your starter is weakening. Unless you are operating consistently below -20 celcius, the 14 should start an Apex no problem.

@RAMSOMAIR I have a turbo kit so the battery sits in a spot built into the oil tank and there is very limited room between the top of the battery and the bottom of the intercooler is my concern.
@74Nitro it does start fine when the battery is new, but after 2 years it gives me problems, I try and store battery out of the sled with a maintainer hooked to it

@RAMSOMAIR I'm going to look up the dimensions for the 2 and see how much difference there is and measure exactly how much space I have to work with and go from there, would really like to go with the higher cca one if it will fit,I picked up a used impulse kit last month so will be putting it in this summer, switching to mid mount I will be putting the factory oil tank back on plus the intercooler sits different so should free up plenty of space for a bigger battery

I have an Interstate FAGYZ20H in my Vector and FAGYZ20HL in my Apex. Easy to source locally where I live. 320cca which gives much better cold cranking amps than the stock battery. The "L" signifies the side of the positive terminal (I think, maybe the negative?). They're different between the Vector and Apex.

Since you have a turbo, it shows you are not scared to spend money & like performance.
In that case look up EARTH-X batteries.
They are $275, but weigh 10 pounds less & are A LOT smaller.

@stevewithOCD I've never heard of them, definitely going to check them out, are they a dry cell? Was curious because of size and weight difference you mentioned.

It weighs 2.5 lbs
330 cca
$259
Discharges very little when not used, if at all.
The coldest i've used it was -10F so i can't attest for it under that.
Not sure of lifespan but in 4 years, it's NEVER been charged.
