Well it's time to replace the original battery out of my 03RX. I have had zero problems with the factory battery, however I was wondering if anyone has had the same luck with something other than the stock battery. I have seen the light weight style but was wondering if the stock is the best replacement for reliablility. Stock meaning the Yamaha replacement. Thanks!

That was my exact thought. With not having any problems this long with the OEM battery I would have to agree and replace with original.

Are they dimensionally the same? I think the new ones come with the YUASA YTX14.

I can only speak from experience but my 95 Kaw Jet Skis use the same Yuasa battery as my 03 RX-1 and I got 5 years out them before having to replace them a few years back. My RX-1 battery is still going strong; always use a Batter Tender during the offseasons to trickle charge and maintain them.

i tried to put a battery from a 04 or 05 in my 03 and it was different.had to use the 03 battery.
