I was getting around 800 miles per belt but not much wide open running last year. I'm sure if I was running more lakes they would not have lasted as long.
I would think it’s more the “on and off” the throttle idea in a very harsh manner...which can result in the clutching just Snapping the belt..due to the incredible power of the motor; rather than wide open running??
But that’s just me and my opinion.

I have never snapped a belt though. They just grenade into a million pieces. I agree that snapping one is most likely getting back into it too hard during a backshift. That's not my issue. I'm guessing my offset is heating up the belt to the point it delaminates when running it hard for distance. Clutches never get crazy hot but the belt seems to heat up. Seems like a sidewall flexing on a low tire and heating up and coming apart.I would think it’s more the “on and off” the throttle idea in a very harsh manner...which can result in the clutching just Snapping the belt..due to the incredible power of the motor; rather than wide open running??
