DOCDIGGLER said:Does mcxepress rear mount use the same oiling system for the turbo???
No, the MCXpress turbo oil system is different from Bender. MCX rear turbo is fed from the engine using engine oilpump to deliver oil to turbo. The turbo has a collect tank that is drained by a variable speed pump installed on the engine magneto. Oil is delivered and drained from the turbo relative to engine rpm.

Doc, What are you using as a restrictor now, a .090" jet or a #90 jet?

It would be interesting to see how close that #90 jet is to a .030" hole. You could use a torch tip cleaning tool and a digital caliper to check.
I believe RX FUN is correct. The long term solution is to add a collection tank and evecuate it from there.
Ted may also have a point that he #90 may be to big. I don't know the measurements of a #90.
I encourage everyone experiencing a problem to call Terry. Right now he has heard from only one or two people so he thinks it is an isolated incident.
Installing a #90 jet and turning the turbo will reduce the problem dramatically and even cure the problem for some people, but not all. If anyone wants instructions get me your email address.

RX, I will try that thanks.
Spray, here is the deal. I actually bought Terry's R&D sled from him two years ago. It had 230 miles on it when I bought it, and it now has 1100 or so. I have had nothing but problems with this thing, which is not anyone’s fault but my own. I have 4 cats I play with and I do not pay enough attention to the one that counts. Two of my buddies bought the first two kits Terry sent out and had alot to do with turning up the boost. They talked to Terry everyday and he was quite helpful and I have his cell # and everything, but this oil issue he says is isolated, yet everyone I know but one person has it. When I bought the sled it had the tank in the trunk with the pump back there also. This worked great except it leaked out of the breather and you had to fill it every 250 miles or so (from my buddies experience) so I would really like to make this work. To say it is isolated I have to disagree. They both sold them and were tired of the headaches. I feel for Turbomania because when I first put the off of the engine oiler in mine I could barely make it 100 miles. My one buddy used the old tank as a catch and then sent it back to the motor and it helped, but if others are making it work I should be able to also. I will call you tomorrow.
thanks to everyone on here and hopefully I will gain interest in this thing again, but my firecats sure start and run very well.
Turbomania, where are you from???

Man i have a Bender Turbo that is great! over 1,000 miles at 12 psi. It does not use any more oil than it did before the Turbo.

Doc,
I feel your pain. I've been there done that with the rediculus oil tank in the back, then the oil line without the restrictor which blew my seals in about 100 miles, to the 110 restrictor which still allowed oil to get through, to turning the turbo, and the list goes on. I think we are finally getting somewhere though. I'm just disapointed..... Terry has always tried to help in the past and I'm not sure why but this time he seems to be in denial.

I want to make sure credit is given where it is due. The instructions and idea of turning the turbo was Treewhackers idea.

Spray 25, Couldn't you just post the instructions for the jet change... is it a #90 or a 90 mikuni jet? I don't know the difference... and the turning of the turbo.. that would be helpful. I have been running at 8-12 lbs for 6000 miles, my stage 2 never uses engine oil and doesn't blow it on the motor, but it does lose the oil in the rear tank.. don't know where it goes, sometimes it seems to leak on the mudflap and sometime there is a trace amount in the intake tube but i do have to fill it after every time i use 12 lbs for the weekend.
onrof,
The instructions I have include pictures and are in an email. i was just being lazy and not wanting to have to extract the pictures and then upload them here. I will see if I can do it later today.
As for the jet it is simple just insert a 90 Mikuni jet in the oil supply line where it seperates next to the gas tank. If you file off the threads it will slip right inside the metal line.
It sounds like you are still using the old metal tank. It definately does not work in the mountains. A powder turn equals a spill. Climbing a steep hill equals a spill. Tipping your slid over equals complete oil loss.
