best replacement skid for 2006 Apex rtx mono

Id suggest listing your riding style, weight and what issues you are having. My understanding of the mono skid, is that it can be a little tricky to dial in, but once you get it, nothing rides as nice.

Not sure about replacement skid, but I'm very happy with my mono now that I had the shock revalved and resprung by hygear. If the rest of the skid is in good shape, might want to consider that.
A search will produce lots of good feedback by just fixing the mono shock.

Skid

And if that does not work ZX2 all the way... :sled1:

well im 240 lbs full dress, and im a very aggressive rider. i rode a rev, and it was amazing, then get back on my rtx and wanted to shoot myself...

heres every single issue im having...
1. STEERING- its very hard to steer. i have stock skis with woody single carbides
2. handle bars theyre very short in distance from one end to the other, i put j hooks on the ends helped a bit but not enough.
3. rear suspension, there is a stock sag, checked everything over, its in great shape. and it bottoms out and makes banging noise on studder bumps. its just an all around rough ride.. i absolutely have been a yamaha man for about 10 years but this sled is steering me to a skidoo xp chassis. PLEASE CONVINCE ME TO KEEP!!!

xtx skid would hold weight much better, but not solve steer issue. Newer apex xtx(2011 or newer) wouild solve both issues if you can afford the upgrade

First year with mono in sled. Purchased a shock from hygear or do a revalve. Also purchased fox floats up front and Usi skiis.

Very happy with all the mods done but still adjusting for best ride. I did try ZX2 skid for one year didnt like. Very happy with mono skid.

At 240lbs, you should install the big boy spring if it doesn't already have it. The banging noise you are hearing on studder bumps could be the transfer rod, it's pretty common for that to be noisy, especially when going slow over studder bumps. Do a search for transfer rod and you can find some threads where people have taken the transfer rod apart and replaced or added o-rings to take the noise out.
