Beware of muffler falling apart

How do you guys know if anything has been addressed or not , did you guys read a post somewhere that there not or something ?
Just because they got some units out doesn't mean there not addressing some of the problems , I'm sure they are , look at all the update they did on the viper before production !

Well if they did they are not telling the dealers. Ihave been dealing with 4 different ones and no one knows anything.

I have not even received notic from my selling dealer to come in a get the reverse detent update and they cannot know I already did it.

my dealer notified me right away about the reverse, although mine has no issues with the reverse.

well since production 2015 are not out yet !! nobody knows whats been addressed. Just because a few demo sleds are out for show dosent mean that they will all be coming off the assembly line 3 months from now the same way!! Hope fully they will be upgraded especially since I just ordered a 2015 Viper LTX SE. Who knows by the time we get ours this fall they may have a totally different exhaust? I do know when I get mine and after I ride it for a few miles I will getting with a few guys on here do some mods to it. If it needs any!! Lets all hope not and that YAMAHA is listening and reading these posts about issues. I am sure the last thing they want to do is to keep fixing warranty issues it only cost them more $$$$. Its like buying a new model car you know there are going to be some bumps in the road but they only get better the second year and beyond.

Yep I was so ready to go Yamaha to have and keep a reliable stock trail machine that would be reliable for years. But the list of smaller issues is growing to larger issues. Starting to loose hope in Yamaha if they don't do something soon. Was at Snocross today checking out the 15 vipers. There was a lot of interest but none asking about any issues. I waited till there were very few around and ask the guy about several issues that are mentioned here and was told quite often don't believe what you read online. Well I don't believe everything. I sure hope Yamaha listens.

Well it's kind of hard not to believe what people in here are saying! When so many different people say it!

I was a loud mouth in the beginning about the fit and finish, but now at the end of the season my biggest complaint is I had to work more than I wanted this winter and didn't ride more!

Yep, Not really sure if it caught on fire, but it did melt the right side panels. Had to throw snow on it to cool the smoldering plastic off.
Sometimes I wonder if, I just should have let it burn. Only way this company is ever gonna learn is if this partnership costs them money.

Nobody was hurt or injured, that's the main thing.

Sure hope Yamaha make there own sled soon. I had exhaust isuues with my Attak also, but at least that one was never a fire hazard.

Yeah I had to wear ear plugs :whine:

I was at a Canadian sled show today. I had a good chin wag with a Yamaha district service manager. He says Yamaha corp. Is aware of the problem and a new/replacement muffler is in the works. He said dealers should be aware by now.
